Former Black Star player Joachim Yaw Acheampong is confident he will add enough quality to AshantiGold's technical bench after being handed the job of an assistant coach to Croatian Zdravko Logarusic at the Obuasi-based club.
AshantiGold, who were second on the League log behind Berekum Chelsea last season have slumped to a bad start to the new season after only winning only one of their first three games, will need the expertise of Acheampong, who was an assistant to Paa Kwesi Fabien at Asante Kotoko in the 2009/2010 Glo Premier League season.
Acheampong, who was a member of the team that won the bronze medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain told Joy FM: “You need someone who can look at the games and give his fair assessment. The coach is not going to notice everything so it’s my duty that I make these things known.
“I will take directions from him as he has enough experience and try to study him so I give him advice when things are not well,” he added.
