Kaizer Chiefs name Itumeleng Khune captain

Posted: 25 October 2011 Time: 01:24 pm

Kaizer Chiefs have announced that Itumeleng Khune will serve as their new captain going forward.

In a statement released on the club’s official site, it reads: “Kaizer Chiefs relieves Jimmy Tau of his captaincy and appoints Itumeleng Khune as the team’s new captain.

“The appointment follows deliberations within the Club and Coach’s decision as a result of the media speculation surrounding Jimmy Tau’s tenure as captain.

“The Club wishes to put it on record that Jimmy Tau did not send an email to the Club resigning as a captain and further that there was no ‘bust up’ between the Head Coach, Vladimir Vermezovic and Jimmy Tau as reported in the media.

“Itumeleng Khune will be supported by a committee of the following players; Tinashe Nengomasha, Kaizer Motaung JNR, George Lebese and Lawrence Molekwane.”

Tau will regret this, with the support with given him even though he is not a player you can write home about,he was just a consinstent player like punch masenamela,

any way Khune Spider Kid won us Games before and hope he will keep doing that and be a good captain,

i still think if Yeye can be given this kind of resposibility he can win games for us as well and command that attacking midfileder which still need a leader

What is going on at the Zoo? The zebras are confused? Chiefs will not win anything with "Ambulance" as Captain. Why is Motaung Jnr in the committee? Is it because he is the son of the owner, just like the arrogant Bobby?

The less said about Nyawana the better, he is overlooked at club level for captaincy, but the arrogant Pitso selects him as national captain. Both Chiefs and Bafana are not going to win anything anytime soon.

The soccer fratenity would like to be explained the main reasons why the captain's armband was striped off mr tau? kick , u seem to support this spaza runned like , why didn't u ask what has tau done?coz they confirmed to you that he did not send an e-mail to managent , vv also said these is not personal, than what is it that forced them to take armband? to keep kune for the next eight years? bucs by nature.

Leaders are born.

There is an ignorant donkey by the name of NtotoTouch. I think he must first go and logship himself before coming here and vomit kak. Lekwelea was once a captain of a certain team which can go for 10 years without a major trophiy.

This donkey must voetsek with its stupid comments.

No offence to the Khosi family, but the way we have handled the JT saga is a combination of lack of ethics and cluelessness, something I have only witnessed in the business management startegy of our close neighbours in Orlando and Mamelodi. Swallows was in shambles around this time last year, and di they panic and start making irrelevant decisions? No, they regrouped and set themselves goals and now they are ripping the rewards. Getting rid of el capitano JT like this was a complete professional misconduct... anyway, I warmly welcome Khune going forward!

When you look at Ngcobo you see the kind of guy who grew up in the farms herding cattle with a stick in hand, black blanket, gumboots and 4 dogs..! Gauteng is not good enough to transform him..!!
