Orlando Pirates have signed highly-rated Niger national team midfielder Boubacar Talatou.

The Niger international has signed a three-year contract with Bucs and will start training with the team after Niger's Afcon qualifier against Egypt this coming weekend.   "I'm very pleased to have joined Orlando Pirates. This is a very successful club with a great history and heritage," the 22-year-old midfielder told Bucs' website.   Bafana Bafana midfielder Thanduyise Khuboni says Talatou is a great signing for Pirates, having played against Talatou in the Afcon qualifier games this year.   "He is a top player and one of the best players in the Niger National team. I played against him and he was all over our defence coming both behind the striker and on the wings. I think he is great signing for Pirates," says Khuboni.  What do you think of Bucs' new signing? Have your say HERE!

AGE CHEAT

"The Organizing Committee of the youth competition of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) held a meeting in Algiers on 28 March 2009, chaired by Slim Aloulou to determine the qualification of a player of the national team of Niger participating at the final tournament of the African under U-17 Championship, Algeria 2009.

Before Malawi-Zimbabwe match, played March 20th, the Zimbabwe Football Federation filed a complaint protesting the eligibility of several players from Niger national team.

After hearing the President and Vice-President of the Niger Football Federation, particularly the alleged player, number 11 called Boubacar Talatou and his name namesake apparently rightful holder of the over-age license, born 1987. And on the documents used by Talatou, at the U-17 championship, the date of birth reads 1992.

The committee examined all the original documents, to include birth certificate and travel document; it has discovered irregularities, over aged, in the official documents of the player, Boubacar Talatou, from Niger.
Consequently, the committee decided to disqualify Niger U-17 national team.

Therefore, Malawi is qualified to continue the tournament, to play the semi-finals, on 29 March 2009, against Gambia in Algiers."
