There was a flurry of goals in the National First Division on Sunday as Blackburn Rovers shot to the top of the table after hammering Sivutsa Stars 3-0 at KaNyamazane while Vasco da Gama thumped Witbank Spurs 4-0.
Vasco are now up to third just a point behind University of Pretoria who could only manage a 1-1 home draw with Bay United.
Rovers, thanks to strikes from Tandolwethu Prins, Petrus Ngebo and Mazwi Mncube are the only club with a 100 percent record and they have a game in hand.
It was a walk in the park for Vasco in Wynberg where Keenin Lesch hit a brace with Zeka Karkee and Marcelino Johnson adding to Spurs' woes.
On Friday night, AmaTuks and Bay United's goals both came near the end of the game when the ABSA Tuks Stadium's floodlights began failing but fortunately, the referee made the decision to continue until the final whistle. Philani Khwela scored on his home debut for Steve Barker's side with Michael Mulaudzi equalizing two minutes later.
Earlier, in Richards Bay, Neil Tovey's Thanda Royal Zulu also dropped vital points after being held to a 2-2 draw by an improving African Warriors.
Thanda's goals came from Lucky Mzizi and Mangoba Ngwenya while veteran striker Bulelani Matross and team mate Koloko Mokhethi were on target for the visitors.
Atlie picked up their first victory at Sinaba, overhauling struggling United FC 2-0 with two ex-Jomo Cosmos men, Alfred Monareng and Gerald Modabi, hitting the back of the net, lifting the newly acquired side to a respectable mid-table position.
Dynamos also showed better intent, beating Mpumalanga Black Aces by the same score at the Puma Stadium where Philani Cele and Rudzani Ramudzulu inflicted more misery upon Craig Rosslee whose side has picked up only three points out of a possible fifteen.
In another encounter, FC Cape Town and Chippa United played out an exciting 1-1 draw in Parow.
Errol Dicks' side opened the scoring in the sixth minute via Mkhanyiseli Siwahla but on the stroke of half time the talented Andile Mbenyane leveled the scores, a result which leaves both sides with a lot of work to do.
On Wednesday, Vasco travels to East London for what looks like a fascinating clash with Rovers, and next Sunday are due to host FC AK who might be playing their opening encounter after being struck down by ownership squabbles.
