Oupa Manyisa rates his goal against Kaizer Chiefs in the MTN8 Final last night as one of the best in his career.

Manyisa has scored three goals for Orlando Pirates since he turned professional in 2008/09 – all of them stunners – and scored his second long-range screamer in succession last night at Soccer City.

The 23-year-old has also beaten both Bafana Bafana goalkeepers, Wayne Sandilands and Itumeleng Khune, to help the Mighty Buccaneers snatch their first trophy this season.

Speaking an an interview with KickOff.com, Manyisa says he "had a feeling" he would score before the match.

"I had great feeling before the start of the game that I would score a goal against Kaizer Chiefs," he says.

"I was so happy when I did, and to win the MTN8 cup for the second time in succession!"

Manyisa says last night's goal is a special one for him: "I always enjoy scoring great goals, but this one was so special because it helped my team win and helped us defend the trophy."

The Randfontein-born midfielder credits senior players at Pirates for helping him improve his performance and stay level-headed.

"The senior players at Pirates have been a great help to improve my game," he says. "They always motivate and encourage me to remain calm and stay level headed. I believe with hard work I can still improve a lot."

Usually when we are due to play Chiefs, their fans talk too much but this time around they did not talk too much before the game. something special about " the Combative" ACE Manyisa. It will be vaer hard for "ACE" to get any injury this season. It's gona be very difficult. he don't allow defenders tp touch him. he holds the ball well on his legs and quickly releases it. He is too self fish to his opponents, and too generous to his teammates. he can do whatever he wants with the ball & he makes soccer looks simple and easier like Lionel Messi.He infact tell the ball what to do. I believe he can suits well in Barcelona or ****nla style. he is not a rush player, but very patient and take step by step, very flexible playa. what amazes me mostly "is his ability to holds the ball and releases it quickly and easier, Hence does'nt opponents to touch him. he is too smart to his oppenents.

What the game showed us was:

1.Chiefs did not come to play but to defend (a sign of fear). They relie d on “Masaka” Khune to pump b@lls forward in order to utilize the speed of Majoro but what VV failed to ****yze is that Pirates use a diamond system. This system calls for a sweeper, there is always someone behind defenders that have moved forward to ensure cover hence teams hardly get off-side decisions against Pirates. When we attack we do the same so that there is always an option to pass the b@ll to.


2. By pumping those b@lls forward they wanted to bypass the middle where Jali & Manyisa are unparalelled hence “Nissan 1400” Nengomashe & Yeye with the help of “wanna be F & C” Shabalala & “Mascara” Josta seemed like they were playing well. What these Goliaths were doing was actually to wait for our militants Davids, they predictably crushed.

It also showed what many CHAMPS has been saying all along:


3.KC has no bench, when we told them they insulted us.

4. “I wanna be fish & chippy” Shabalala is overrated & losing his spark if there was any fast. As usual he got substituted against the Champs. For SA sake, let us not celebrate mediocrity.

5. Never rely on paraffin infused paper spirit to win games, what JD did in the past was good “form” but not concurring CLASS of Manyisa, Jali or all galaxies at Pirates, for examples. Tactics, tactics & more tactics win you games which VV sadly & n@kedly lacks.

6. What Manyisa did to Sandilands can also be done to the so called best GK in mzansi in a cup final no gal. 7. Majoro is not yet a world beater & lacks a big game temperament. KC fans must not overrate him yet to the detriment of his potential. He would have reached his potential had he signed for the CHAMPS.

I have lost count of how many times I have read about Khune in Sunday newspapers dumping girls like no one's business, boy this is the results of it, as much as you have your own privete life it becomes a problem for us the fans if negative stories are written about you week in and week out, deliver on the pitch and in the sheets,,,that's what you are paid for. As to the final on Saturday, a dull game but Bucselona proved that no one but the PSL referees can stop them. When we told them last season that they beat us in two consecutive games was largely because of Krol poor tactical acumen and that pound for pound we were a much better quality they thought we were talking nonsense. Now we are proving to them how good our team is,how difficult it is for their team. its going to take them long to beat us in the near future.
It takes a lot of money & great management,great technical staff & great supporters to build a great team!
Winning things or championship is not a child play!instilling winning mentality takes time,hard work & a great motivator.its a process that starts with the club chairman or president.a winning team is for everyone,including the groundman,office cleaner etc.its not only about the players.
We at Pirates have being building our team for more than a decade,yes for many years!!we did not make short-term plans of say;one plastic trophy a season.we are like Barcelona,we want to dominate from all fronts & it must not be a temporary measure.we want,not only win things in S.A but extend to Africa & the world.we have big ambitions & that is to conquer everything.
We will continue to sign the best & not flukes like others are doing.we are not yet at our best,where we want to be!
OUR motto shall be!
