Vlad V defends Khune

Vladimir Vermezovic defends Itumeleng Khune

Posted: 11 September 2011 Time: 08:38 am

Vladimir Vermezovic says Itumeleng Khune must not shoulder the blame for Kaizer Chiefs’ 1-0 loss in the MTN8 Final on Saturday night.

Khune appeared to have misjudged Oupa Manyisa’s strike from 30 metres out, but Vermezovic says it is pretty much misguided opinion to lay the blame on Khune, who was critical of his ball watching defence at the post-match interview.

Vermezovic said: “My philosophy is that a goalkeeper is never guilty for [conceding] a goal, never! If 10 players in front of him can’t stop a guy from scoring then he can’t do anything.

“It was the biggest mistake of our players to wait for a cross and no-one came out to block Oupa’s shot. We knew he took a shot like that against Sundowns [in the semifinals] and it was our biggest mistake not blocking him,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Serbian admitted that his side had lost to a better team on the night.

"Pirates deserved to win the Final... Their defence was very good," he added.

Biased comments again by VV, taking side, is he implying that his defence is useless and Khune could n't do anything to stop that shot.

ow please VV, This is the self proclaimed best keeper in AFRICA we are talking about.

He did the same thing in the 2010WC where Diego Forlan shot far from 40 meters.

Reality is, the shot came from a good player who knew he wanted the bal. The Rocket Scientist himself, Bra Oupa Manyisa.

Slim kat is the only keeper who can stop these shots, pity they are in the same team.

God is not a fool, never will he be one.

The referee disallowed a clear and legitimate goal by Mr Fantastic Drogba Ndulula.

But we prayed and said God here we go again, Chiefs has been winning many cups by fraud, God answered through our prophet AAAACE Manyisa

3x3 masacre masacre, kuphi Khona

VV take it like a man and say it"Khune let down, the team that was already down"

The coach talk too much, the fans talk 2 much, the players talk 2 much but they are all failing to solve the X.

VV has spent 3 seasons at Chiefs with the same players yet he is failing to get the best out of them.

Is the coach a problem or are players average or its a combination of both.

Khune was a flop last season, letting in easy and silly goals and he continues where he left of.

I am not sure what nyaope is maybe one of Chiefs Zim players.

Yes u right Khune never proclaimed to be mzansi's finest, u Chiefs fans overrated him, no questioned his talent, but he is not what u are making him to be, i mean to claim Best keeper status in AFRICA is just to arrogant. To claim best keeper in Mzansi while failing to secure a simple overseas contract is just arrogant eg Darren Kit.

all i am saying to you, last week, u said Sanderlands was useless and Khune could have chest trapped that ball, u even went to an extent of suggesting to Pitso to drop Sunderlands. We all aw how overrated KHUNE is.

We lost the confed because of his silly mistakes.

Khawuyiyeke le nyaope uyibemayo, what does an overseas contract has to do with talent, keet has good agents. Now u r blaming bb loss and award victories to certain individuals u need diski101. Khulumani le nto niyithethayo resume cannot be matched by any locally and for a goalkeeper age is on his side.
