Orlando Pirates coach Julio Cesar Leal has credited the team’s former mentor Ruud Krol after the Buccaneers retained their MTN8 title on Saturday night.

Pirates ran out winners after beating nemesis Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 at FNB Stadium, courtesy of Oupa Manyisa’s long-range stunner.

The Brazilian took over the coaching reigns after the Dutchman’s contract was not renewed at the end of the previous campaign, but Leal says Krol deserves the plaudits for laying a good foundation.

“This is because of the past coach, who worked on the squad properly. We are just continuing where he left off and trying to adjust some areas,” Leal said.

Leal also expressed his delight for making good on his promise to pick up where the team left off last season, when they won the treble.

“I’m the happiest man in the world today,” he added.

Kroll will always be special in the Bhakaniya family, His orange shirt is still with us.

Now coach please Tsipa them again in the PSL race. Coach please play Anelka or the new striker because Mabena is just Chiefs material. He is not a GALAXY.

Ruud Krol the master of soccer remember this. When he took over pirates in his first season he removed dead wood. By the name of lehlohonolo seema and replaced him with mhlongo as captain. He made mahamutsa,jali,manyisa and instiled discipline in tlou,mabalane and made mayambela a pirates darling. Krol is pirates today.
Football 101 was mastered at Orlando Pirates.

lordjerry: Kroll's first season at Bucs was a great success, he came 2nd to SSU, season after that he was on equal points with SSU.

Fact is, Kroll has been silver medalist winner, but he got tired of that and wanted Gold and the boys tasted Gold and they dont want any other taste.

Kroll is welcomed anyday at Bucs family. Floyed Mbele was another destruction to Krolls plans, now that he gone, Leal will win everthing on offer

@king i still remember the telkom knockout final in durban against ajax we were losing 2-1 when benert chenene in the dying minutes went for goal instead of playing the ball across goal and it would have been an easy tap in for shaka zulu. That was his first season. On the last day we needed to win but drew and supersport lost eish that was bad luck.

To all buccaneers since football 101 was mastered with a win in the mtn8 final. There is a vacant football 202 course that needs to a lecture. Football 101 was mastered by Orlando Pirates.

Chiefs lost to a better team, congra to bucks n enjoy it while it last. Coach 4got to give praise to the physical trainer, the pierats team is filled with players who can run the whole week without getting tired that was the difference. Ntsimbi deserved the Man of the match, now m starting to think bobby made a mistake by not signing him
