Orlando Pirates coach Julio Cesar Leal's unbeaten record against Kaizer Chiefs means nothing he says
Leal's record takes a back seat

Orlando Pirates coach Julio Cesar Leal has lost only once in seven matches against Kaizer Chiefs, but he ignores that and chooses instead to focus on building Bucs winning foundation ahead of Saturday's MTN8 Final.
Leal believes it is important to build on the winning foundation that has already been set through the success that Bucs enjoyed last season when bringing home three trophies.
"It is important in football to build a winning structure," says Leal who is seeking his first official trophy for Pirates.
"So we expect to start the season by winning the first official trophy as that will give the impression that we are on the right track which is what we want. Pirates is a winning club, the importance of which was shown last season. Our confidence is in the capacity to win trophies," says the Brazilian.
Though Leal heads into the Final having lost only once to Chiefs in the time he has spent coaching AmaZulu and Moroka Swallows in the country as well as his time so far at Pirates, he is not looking to that statistic for inspiration.
"It is history. It belongs in the museum. I choose to think towards the future because statistics change every day…the past doesn't count now. I am so optimistic that at times I have to control myself," he says.

Pirates have already won twice against Chiefs this season in the Vodacom Challenge and the Carling Black Label Final – something that they hope will continue.
"We have carefully prepared for this match and need to increase our motivation as it is the first official Cup Final of the season. It will be important for us to keep the focus even when the performance is not high," adds Leal.
The Brazilian coach is expected to stick with Moeneeb Josephs in goals in a defence that should also have Happy Jele, Lucky Lekgwathi, Rooi Mahamutsa and Ruben Cloete with the two militant midgets Andile Jali and Oupa Manyisa bossing the midfield.
Leal will only have to consider his options wisely in attack where he has an array of options.
"A Cup Final has to be carefully prepared for during the week and I have done just that," he says.
