Liberty deny new appointments

Liberty Professionals have denied they have made new appointments at top level following the death of club president Sly Tetteh.

There were reports on Wednesday that suggested co-founder Felix Ansong will occupy the position of club president with former National Sports Council top man Charles Aryee due to become take on take on the role as executive board chairman.

But the club insists those stories are not true and are adamant the position of club president will not be filled.

"We want to state categorically that no such appointments have been made to the position of president, executive chairman, coach and captain at the club," Ansong said in a statement.

"The position of president will not be filled and all other roles and responsibilities remain the same.

"We also wish to place on record that the only meeting held so far was on Tuesday with the technical team which included Cecil Jones Attuquayefio and the playing body to assure them that the president passing away will not affect the brand and business of Liberty Professionals Football Club."
