Booth needs to pass medical to join Ajax

Matthew Booth has confirmed that he will sign for Ajax Cape Town

Matthew Booth has confirmed that he will sign for Ajax Cape Town - subject to passing a medical.

The 34-year-old defender flew to The Mother City last night for negotiations with Ajax CEO George Comitis and admits he has agreed terms ‘in principle’.   “They still have to check my medical reports and pass the deal through the board but in principle we have agreed terms,” Booth tells KickOff.com.   “Obviously there are a couple of things that could still trip it up and it has not been 100 percent confirmed but we should know for certain in the next couple of days.”   The former Bafana Bafana player has been without a club since Mamelodi Sundowns decided not to offer him a new contract in June. Booth has been forced to recover from his knee injury on his own as he bids to return to full fitness and he admits he is grateful for Ajax to give him the opportunity.   Booth says: “I’m very excited, purely from the point of view that a team has shown faith in me even though I still have a month until I can play again. It’s also my home town and a really well-run club so hopefully I can get things resolved over the weekend.”

Lol. Ajax does not learn, I would not be surprised if tomorrow he signs for Jomo Cosmos.
