Baron to miss Santos match

Bidvest Wits goalkeeper Emille Baron is injured

Posted: 16 August 2011 Time: 06:47 am

Bidvest Wits goalkeeper Emille Baron will miss the match against Santos on Wednesday after getting injured during their 2-2 draw against Maritzburg United on Sunday.

Baron, who joined Wits recently, was replaced in the 80th minute by Energy Murambadoro.   Wits coach Rodger de Sa tells KickOff.com that Baron will go for a leg scan today.   "He didn’t go for a scan on Monday as we got back late from Maritzburg, but he will go for a scan on Tuesday morning to determine how long he will be out," he says.   "At the moment we can’t say anything as we will only know after the scan," he adds.   The keeper fell down before Wayne Matle scored the equaliser and it is understood that he damaged his knee or ankle, according to De Sa if the injury is serious he could be out for six months or a year.

Injuries have really cost this man his football career. I hope he saved enough money during his hey day coz dis myt b da end of da road 4 him if u consider dat he sustained the injury with no contact from any one.

I, however, wish him a full & speedy recovery esp since he's leaking goals in & dat will benefit Benni when he gets to be in the Wits 18 area...

I said it before, any team that signs this man must just brace themselves for high maintenance cost. He is like a badly designed good car. Even his performance has shot straight down as a result. Give one season where he went more than half the PSL games....

The moment Baron realised that it was a goal... he started jumping up and down holding his leg, I doubt if he is injured at all or if the injury is that bad! If he is God forgive me but I am not convinced, he was just embarassed.

Triple H can be so happy to take Emille Baron to Monday Night Raw. He could sign on the dotted line for WWE and be a success, he no-longer belongs to soccer. John Cena is still looking for the challenger..!!

my apologies to baron if his injury is genuine, but i couldn't help but notice that after he went down and the ball was kicked he glanced back and checked if it was a goal or not. after he saw that it was a goal he then started jumping up and down. i'm skeptical to his injury. i hope he was not faking it.
