Sangweni moved by the fans

Siyabonga Sangweni thanks Orlando Pirates fans for support in MTN8

Posted: 7 August 2011 Time: 10:19 am

Siyabonga Sangweni had a dream debut for Orlando Pirates yesterday, scoring to send them through in the MTN8, and he says he was "moved" by the fans support.

In a Man-of-the-Match performance, the Bafana Bafana defender scored the only goal of the game in extra-time against Santos, and was also solid in defence.

"I am very thankful to the coach and my teammates for their support – it was a team effort," 'Ntsimbi' says.

"I was very happy with the support given to us by the fans. It moved me and they really deserved the win."

Sangweni played in central defence alongside his captain, Lucky Lekgwathi, and it will be interesting to see how will things will play out when Rooi Mahamutsa is back from suspension in the next match.

"Compeition is the name of the game and we all play for the good of the team," Sangweni tells Kickoff.com, "so whoever gets to play need to be supported by all. This is what we will do."

Sangweni proves himself time and again as a player that we must keep our eye on. Appreciate his humility and determination and he makes a habit of scoring for both club and country, something we dearly need. MTN must be loving this as the favourites so far go through, sure they're just waiting for the Amakhosi to glide past the students.

He must enjoy the adulation while it lasts,by the end of this season the same supporters will be complaining that he is slow and he will be sitting on the bench.

Pie-rats fans talk too much crap in this forum. Firstly that overrated Ndulula is a cow. He was bussy saying he will score against Chiefs and he never did. Against Santos he was playing kak. Mayambela is playing strreet soccer and will never go anywhere. Pierats top goalscorer will be a defender as usual, their strikes (Msowoya, Nduluba, Mabena and the cow that was transfer listed Otorogu) are nothing else but overarated cows. The real players in the Pierats teams are Manyisa and Jali, the rest are overrated glaxy of cows.
