Ghanaians trialists leave Kaizer Chiefs

Ghanaians leave Chiefs

Posted: 2011-08-04 13:17

The three Ghanaians who were on trial at Kaizer Chiefs have gone back home without being offered contracts.

Defender Henry Entsir (21), 30-year-old centre-back John Ashong and 20-year-old midfielder Yakubu Mohammed, from Ashanti Gold, were at the club for a week-long trial but they will have to wait a bit longer before the club decides.

"They are gone and now we have brought in the two Zimbabwean players [Justice Majabvi and Lincoln Zvasiya]," team manager Bobby Motaung tells KickOff.com.

"The coach will now assess these players and make a decision."

Majabvi and Zvasiya are expected to try out for the next 10 days and afterwards the coach will make a decision on who to sign among the five, including the Ghanaians, if of course they impress him.

As things stand, the decision on the Ghanaians has been shelved to allow the Zimbabwean players an opportunity before a decision can be made.

This is what I call a good player acquisition management strategy!

You do a thorough due diligence before you acquire a player!

Chiefs invest only in those players which are most important to the smooth running and well-being of our team!

Man-God: 2011-08-04 13:55

Eish, you buy one, you get one for free, Why Bobby?

I don't know why we still invite players from Ghana becuase they're not good enough for Kaizer Chiefs . I remember we had one Ghanaian striker in our team and he was useless and rubbish like Bongani "Nontobeko" Ndulula

Players that coming from Zim,Zambia and Namibia are more compatible with Naturena style

All things work together for good, buy one get two in Ghana.
Buy one get one in Zim. that is Bobby for you.

Chisiboy: 2011-08-04 15:12

I find it quite strange how players are assessed these day. How to you decide whether a player is good or not without giving the player some game time? These players should have been used in the Vodacom Challenge. But again I suppuse stakes were too high. Goes to show that these tourmanent actually detracts rather than help with preparing for the new season!

Distar: 2011-08-04 15:17

They ar bankrapt....cHIVs are nothing but always iretating....use your coins to buy those stupit Zims...we don't care gore you buy whom or not....you chimpanzees..

Chisiboy: 2011-08-04 15:12 [ Report ]

How can coaches assess these players when Khoza & Motaung came with up with their own tournament Black Label Cup .

We had Charity cup that gave 4 PSL teams a chance to used to evaluate their options , possibilities of signing these players . 2 teams were guaranteed 2 matches and that was enough to check all the trialists in those teams .

New Orlando Pirates signing Benni McCarthy has declared himself available when Bucs host Santos in the MTN8 match set for Orlando Stadium on Saturday.

McCarthy was unveiled as a Buccaneer on Monday morning and, despite having not played a competitive match for some time, Bafana Bafana’s all-time leading goalscorer insisted he was ready for action.

“It all depends on the coach, but for me personally I can play today, tomorrow or the day after,” McCarthy said. “I am hungry to play again.”

McCarthy was doing some light training on his own in his first few sessions as a Pirates player, but insists he will soon be back in peak form.

"It all depends on the coach, but for me personally I can play today, tomorrow or the day after "
- Benni McCarthy

“I can play three games in a row, but I’m not saying I can do that throughout the season; that’s where the fitness coaches will instruct me what they think is best for me. I am not only thinking for three months, but for the next two season, so I want to be fit and play 95 percent of games and that means to be involved in everything.”

McCarthy has also set his sights on winning the Lesley Manyathela award for being the top scorer.

“I also want to be a top scorer and can only achieve that playing for the best team,” he added. “I am wiser now, but still have the same goal-scoring abilities from years gone by.

“If you are hungry like me then there are more than 20 goals to be scored at Pirates, especially considering the scoring chances that are being created.”

Rona Ko Pirates gare bue ka Makwerekwere we are talking about Benni In The 18 Area.............
