Four out of the eight teams in the weekend’s CAF Champions League group phase second round gathered sizeable leads that reshaped the standings.
GROUP A
Coton Sport (Cameroon) 2-3 Enyimba (Nigeria)
Nigeria’s Enyimba on Saturday obtained a vital 3-2 away win over Cameroon champions Coton Sport, who had not lost a game on their Garoua turf in six years.
The Aba Warriors ruled the first half with two goals from Uche Kalu in the 8th minute and Chidozie Johnson on 39 minutes, but the hosts bounced backed after the break to even the scores through a 46th minute strike from Congolese-import Mfoutou Madila and a 63rd minute goal from Idrissa Seidou.
However, Enyimba’s unfaltering determination paid off when Kalu completed his brace to seal victory for the two-time African champions, who now lead Group A on goals scored.
Al-Hilal Club (Sudan) 1-0 Raja Casablanca (Morocco)
Sudan giants Al-Hilal narrowly escaped another consecutive draw by beating visiting Moroccan representatives Raja Casablanca 1-0 on Friday in Omdurman via a penalty transformed by Edward Sadomba on 65 minutes, to stay behind Enyimba in Group A with four points.

Fired up by 40 000 fans at the Mohammed V stadium on Saturday, Wydad Casablanca crushed their visitors MC Alger 4-0 to stay top of Group B with four points and a fat goal difference in their favour.
Congolese-born striker Fabrice Ondama opened the scoring two minutes into the game, before midfielder Ahmed Ajedou doubled near the half-hour mark through a penalty, while right winger Elkhaliqi made it 3-0 for the hosts in the 71st minute. Benin-import Pascal Angan wrapped it up with a fourth in injury time.
Esperance Tunis (Tunisia) 1-0 Al Ahly (Egypt)
Hamstrung by the absence of four keys players due to injury, 2010 Caf Champions League finalists Esperance Tunis were able to secure a crucial home win on Saturday over continental giants Al Ahly.
A 14th minute header from newly recruited Cameroonian striker Yannik Ndjeunk put the game to bed, as captain Oussama Darragi fluffed a penalty that could have doubled the lead for the hosts.
