Klate ready for Spurs clash

Orlando Pirates midfielder Daine Klate fit for Tottenham Hotspur clash

Posted: 22 July 2011 Time: 06:57 pm

Orlando Pirates midfielder Daine Klate has dispelled fears that he may have picked up an injury during the Vodacom Challenge game against Kaizer Chiefs in Port Elizabeth yesterday.

Klate was stretchered off in the second half holding his thigh which raised speculation that he may have picked up a groin injury. The midfielder spent the past six months on the sidelines due to a shoulder injury.   However, speaking to KickOff.com, Klate assured the Bucs faithful that he would be ready for the showdown against Tottenham Hotspur in the Voda final at Coca-Cola Park tomorrow.   "It was not an injury," Klate tells KickOff.com. "My legs felt heavy but I am okay now. It's all been due to the hard work at training; you must remember I was out of the game for some time due to my shoulder injury.   "I am sure I will be ready for the Vodacom Cup final if the coach selects me."   Meanwhile Pirates winger Tlou Segolela says he is ready to continue where he left off against Kaizer Chiefs when Bucs take on Spurs tomorrow.   ‘Sox' scored the winning goal for Bucs when they beat Amakhosi 1-0 last night.   "It is always nice to score goals, especially when you do it against a big team like Chiefs. That game is history now and our focus is on the final against Spurs.    "Our supporters are used to us winning now and we will try our best not to disappoint them tomorrow," he adds.

Daine klate is a good player no doubt and should play on saturday but for me the missing link in the pirates team is EZENWA OTOROGU! pls Mr khoza and mr Leal... BRING OUR DARLING STRIKER EZENWA OTOROGU BACK! there's no justification for leaving Otorogu off the team or Is there something someone is not telling the entire bucs family worldwide or is a big-wig in the management against Otorogu ?! if not why is he not playing? Otorogu is better than ndulula, mabena, malokase and mayambela put together and all these guys are in the team doing what and Otorogu is left on the sidelines? is that not suspicious?!!the strike force Leal is using is so annoyingly blunt.... ndulula has shown he still has a lot to learn....ndulula is certainly NOT the answer to the bucs attack...mayambela is better as a sub.... Otorogu is an all round striker who knows how to give defenders a heck of a game and keeps them on their toes and begging for mercy!Otorogu knows how to hold the ball, spreads good passes and has eyes for goals! i would have loved to see OTOROGU AND CHANSA UPFRONT THEN KLATE OR SEGOLELA ,DOUTE ,OUPA AND JALI BEHIND THEM.....THE DEFENCE IS ROCK SOLID WITH SANGWENI,ROI,CLOETE OR THWALA,JELE.... WITH THIS PIRATES TEAM ANY OTHER TEAM WILL PEE IN THEIR DIAPERS EVEN BEFORE THE GAME STARTS! lol! PLS PIRATES MANAGEMENT BRING EZENWA OTOROGU BACK! WE CAN'T AFFORD TO LOSE A PLAYER OF HIS CALIBER...IF POSSIBLE...LET OTOROGU PLAY TOMORROW AGAINST SPURS...THAT WAY WE'LL SEE A GOOD GAME UPFRONT FOR PIRATES... up the BUCS!

Beyondpraise: Otorogo z better than Ndulula? Dnt talk make me laugh bcose i dnt see otorogo continue playing 4 bucs dis season bcose of the poor finishing and last time he score he was against amakhosi in the league and since that game he never score,so how u going to rate a cowish strike otorogo against a good striker like ndulula who help under23 to qaulify 4 all africa games

The issue about Otorogu revolves around fitness level/weight issue. Remember a story in Laduma some time back?

beyondpraise is right about one thing: bongani is not a finished product so he cant be the answer. But I disagree that Otto is the solution.

I think foreign strikers must be exceptional to be kept in SA, like Mbesuma, Nyasha n Musona. A 5 goal a season foreign striker is a bad investment.
