Thulani Serero scores in Ajax Amsterdam's win against Brondby

Posted: 21 July 2011 Time: 08:47

Thulani Serero scored his first goal for new club Ajax Amsterdam in a 3-0 victory over Danish side Brondby.

The 21-year-old netted the second of the three goals after neat interplay on the edge of the box provided him with a shooting opportunity.

It capped an impressive display from the former Ajax Cape Town player, who is rapidly becoming a favourite in Amsterdam.

His new coach, Frank de Boer, said last week even he had been surprised with the talent of the rising star.

“Everyone told me how good he was, but even then he surprised me,” De Boer said. “Serero is a player with talent dripping off him. He is incredibly quick and a very clever player.”

Meanwhile, Bidvest Wits’ Sifiso Myeni played the final 14 minutes of the match for Brondby, where he is on trial.

The winger only arrived in Denmark earlier this week, but got his first run-out against Ajax as part of a 12-day trial.

With almost his first touch of the game he created a great opportunity for teammate Osama Akharraz, but the latter could not finish.

Serero is the future and Pitso better give him a starring role. we need to start building around the youth in the national team. i am also happy that First division teams have a compulsory clause to field at least 5 under 23 players from the start to the end of the game.
Swona Champ!

Aza: I agree with you.

i would rather lose in the AFCON with young team preparing for Brasil 2014. than loosing with the players who wont be there.

Pitso should start taking risks.I am so happy for Thulani, Ntwana do me a favour while in Holland, make money and more money and come back home as rich black man.

Moegoes will start talking about money when this guy only need to be disciplined and dedicated and respect his talent at this stage. The moola will automatically fall in place. He does not need to be reminded of how much money he should make, not at this stage.
