Poor start for Enyimba

Poor start for Enyimba

Enyimba made a compromised start to life in the group stages of the 2011 CAF Champions League, drawing 2-2 at home to Sudan's Al Hilal on Sunday in Aba.

Al Hilal's Zimbabwean striker Edward Sadomba helped himself to a brace as the Sudanese representatives came away with a point from Aba.

Sadomba had stunned the home crowd with the opener after just 22 minutes, but Valentine Nwabili found parity for Enyimba when his piledriver was scrambld into his own net by the Al Hilal goalkeeper.

The home side then went in front on the hour. Kalu Uche heading home from Peter Onoja's cross.

The lead lasted all of 15 minutes. With their minds wandering, Al Hilal played a quick free-kick, and Sadomba was at the end of it, to punish the lumbering defence of the two-time champions.

In the other group game, Raha Casablanca were also held to a draw by CAmeroon's Cotton Sport Garoua.
The results leave all four teams on a single point each.

Judging from what happened yesterday, I think Enyimba will make it out of this group. The two goals conceded were as a result of the water-logged pitch, the defenders couldn't clear their line well.

All the same, should they put more effort, I believe they will even win in their away matches. Let's believe Okey Emodi will do something in the defense aspect of the team.

I wish the Peoples Elephant the best of success.

Enyimba's problem was the defence, the defenders should be probe for match fixing, they were not organised, they had poor clearance, infact i asked wether they were professional footballers or just a set of boys picked from the dirty aba streets, besides that the forward was jittery, not accurate and most atimes unneccesarily stylish. Thumbs up to valentine nwabili, that guy is a good footballer, siasia take note.
