Masilela off to Sweden with Leicester

Tsepo Masilela goes on pre-season with Leicester City

Posted: 6 July 2011 Time: 12:51 pm

Tsepo Masilela is set to join up with his new Leicester City team-mates on Sunday as the 26-year-old hopes to finalise his move to the English Championship side.

Masilela has agreed terms of his year-long loan from Israeli champions Maccabi Haifa and will link up with new manager Sven-Goran Eriksson on the Foxes' pre-season tour to Sweden.    He will then undergo his medical and agent Mike Makaab is hopeful that the former Benoni United player can finally begin his career in England.   "Tsepo will be off to Sweden to meet his new team on Sunday and will do his medicals the next day," Makaab of ProSports International tells KickOff.com.   "If everything goes well then he will then fly to South Africa so we can complete his application for the work permit in the UK. Then hopefully he will be able to join up with the rest of the squad for pre-season training but I don't see any problems."   Former England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson is busy building a squad to be reckoned with as Leicester attempt to return to the Premier League for the first time since 2004.    He has already signed four players in the close season and is expected to sign several more before their last pre-season friendly against Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid on July 30.

I hate that most of the so called SA soccer stars will be playing in that Mvela this season. Hope Shabba does not join the list.

Next week we beat SPURS and I can't wait for my team to prove that players from CHIEFS are not the championship material.

I think championship is good for our players. The standard is higher than our PSL and having players there will benefit Bafana Bafana.

stop being naive, what yardstick to prove SA players are the best, last yr Man U was here they beat your team 4-0, whats wrong with you, instead of inviting Champs teams and benchmark against them, you invite big teams that dont belong to your class, how can a grade R child compete with a university student mxxxxm.

our players should know it takes time to play in the elite ligs, take for instance Drogba, Essien etc all vied through France in the small lig to acclamatise themselves, if you think your players are good enough to dash straight to EPL,LaLiga,Serie A good luck

This trend this disturbing.it looks like dis will be the new standards, no player will go stright to the EPL, they have to 1st start with the championship.if you are not good enough for the big time stay where you are.i cant imagine shabba playing in the vodacom league in England.i mean this guys where playing in the world cup, why are they looking down upon themselves.i mean the price means a lot, the price for most of these guys is cheaper than for most players in the psl.what does that tell you.maafrica lets stop looking down upon ourselfs, this story of saying the championship is better than the psl is not correct.the english lyk to market they things, and this is another cheap marketing.we know the english league is not the best. why are they not dominating europe?
