Benedict Vilakazi is in desperate search for a club; so much so he has now been phoning Bobby Motaung of Kaizer Chiefs.
‘Tso’ has until recently been trying to get hold of Orlando Pirates boss Dr Irvin Khoza, but the ‘Iron Duke’ has not returned his calls, as reported by KickOff.com recently.
Now the former Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns and Mpumalanga Black Aces midfielder is trying his luck with Chiefs, but the club’s football manager, Bobby Motaung, says it is highly unlikely they would offer Vilakazi an opportunity.
“We have a lot of midfielders, so no not at the moment,” he says when asked if the club would consider offering the 28-year-old a deal.
“He phoned me directly, but I have not spoken to him as I have not returned his call yet,” Motaung tells KickOff.com.
Vilakazi’s career has plummeted to an all-time low after he was discarded by Sundowns, on the back of being dismissed by Mpumalanga Black Aces.
‘Tso’ was on loan at Mpumalanga Black Aces when he was dismissed for being “absent from training on January 31 and February 28” among a litany of transgressions and when he attempted to return to Sundowns, he was told his services will no longer be required at the club and now he has been searching earnestly for a new home, without any luck.
Vilakazi couldn’t be reached for comment on his side of the story.
