Bobby Motaung turns down Benedict Vilakazi's advances

Posted: 28 June 2011 Time: 10:25

Benedict Vilakazi is in desperate search for a club; so much so he has now been phoning Bobby Motaung of Kaizer Chiefs.

‘Tso’ has until recently been trying to get hold of Orlando Pirates boss Dr Irvin Khoza, but the ‘Iron Duke’ has not returned his calls, as reported by recently.

Now the former Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns and Mpumalanga Black Aces midfielder is trying his luck with Chiefs, but the club’s football manager, Bobby Motaung, says it is highly unlikely they would offer Vilakazi an opportunity.

“We have a lot of midfielders, so no not at the moment,” he says when asked if the club would consider offering the 28-year-old a deal.

“He phoned me directly, but I have not spoken to him as I have not returned his call yet,” Motaung tells

Vilakazi’s career has plummeted to an all-time low after he was discarded by Sundowns, on the back of being dismissed by Mpumalanga Black Aces.

‘Tso’ was on loan at Mpumalanga Black Aces when he was dismissed for being “absent from training on January 31 and February 28” among a litany of transgressions and when he attempted to return to Sundowns, he was told his services will no longer be required at the club and now he has been searching earnestly for a new home, without any luck.

Vilakazi couldn’t be reached for comment on his side of the story.

Yhaaaa, now I believe and understand this line "Never say Never"

Shame...I remember long time ago when I was still at school and watching Jam Alley and the host was Nestum and "Tso" Vilakazi was invited and nestum pulled a prank and offered him a Kaizer Chiefs jesery and he said "He's a Bucerneer for Life , he will never done our jersey"....cannot belive that now he's trying his luck at Naturena .......yhaaaa that's life

However I still rate him higher and if he was given a chance I think he would make a huge different .

Wishing you a good luck "Tso" in searching for a team.
Keep praying "Little Napoleon"

He must just apply for old age pension.

Its sad to think this is the same Vilakazi who not so long ago was the pride and joy of OP. Now at 28, supposedly at his prime cannot even get a mid table team chasing his signature??

Plea to players, do not become to big too soon...

Mr Tso Benedict Vilakazi it is very sad to hear such stories about you!Your first mistake before turning Iron Duke down when u were from Belgium was simple:PRIDE!You were loaned out by SunPrison to get game time in Mpumalnga,But u thought u r bigger than the game! The team that lacks loyalty shown u the front door.

Now u r calling Bobby to sign u,do u know Mr "Khanyi Mbau" Vilakazi that Kaizer Chiefs is the most proffessionally run football club in the world, not a mickey mouse team like SunFlops fc(career breaking) n Pi-Lerete fc(run by a MAFIA)!Do two things before you retire mr Mbau,1st,go n pursue ur career in Swaziland(anda pie-rats overseas) n also call Punch "Mr 3 Points" Masenamela abt how the world is so cold outside there!

Lastly I have to concur with Gucci Man that in life,NEVER SAY NEVER!I remember the good old days where u calimed to be hating the most proffessionally run football club but to my surprise,u r begging the job from the very same team! The PULE/MAHLANGU planet is busy accumulating the talent-waist like u mr mbhau!

Blame everything on u mr mbhau,Kaizer Chiefs is not a polygamist like Pi-leret or Mandla Mthebu(Sundowns).Chiefs is Chiefs,Finish n Klaar.Go back to ur back room in Soweto, groom more players young players n ur efforts will be recogninsed by Drink'O PoP(Shabba's Grassroots)

@Gerrad wa leKhosikazi: Do u remember Phumlani Mkhize? Which team did he played for after playing for KC? Or should I say in which country did he further his "overseas ambitions"? Answer: Swaziland. Stop talking k@k about Pirates vs Swaziland. Steve moved from United FC to Swaziland (not from Bucs). Steve n Tsoare reaping the fruits of their own making. Stop blaming Bucs. Anyway where is Skaapie Malatsi, Lucky Maselesele, Patrick Mbuthu, Jabu Pule, etc? Are tarvens or shebeens KC's overseas?

I am sorry to hear about the great napoleon finding himself in this situe. WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES. L>ook at Rooney who at one point wanted to Leave Man U because he said they 'lacked' ambition and their squad was not good enough, come season end he was celebrating another league medal; look at Mphela and his boycott at downs but is now a hero for bapuma bapuma, sorry bafana bfana. In other WORDS TSO made some bad decisions but that does not diminish his quality and I believe if given a chance by someone like Gordon, Gavin, Owen, Roger (who do not take nonsense) I believe he can come back to his great self. Even Ajax must sit down and talk with him and see hoe serious he is and perhaps sign a performance based contract. He is 28 and that is not a madala by soccer standards, so anybody who is willing to give him a chance (and Tso willing to take a massive pay cut and behavioral improvement) will get their moneys worth! Serious!

Dr Khoza please! just give Tso one year contract! You have nothing to lose but everything to gain. We cant allow this boy to stoop so low as to call the farm manager who is also a tenderpreneur at the cable thiefs, for a job. How do we dump our own Tso to the cabbage village. No! we cant allow this boy to work with cabbages, he can still kick the ball and I am sure that Tso will help us gain that second golden star. Ok! give him six months contract!!!

I don't think its a good way of addressing this situation by Bobby,Tso called him privately & he did not know why he phoned him & all of a sudden he ran to the media to tell the world that if Tso is calling him with regard to joining Chimps he must forget!
This man has pride & is arrogant.he should respect other people despite even those people may be looking for a job at his club.I think Irvin must sign Tso & I believe he will come back strong to win us the championship.
