Mato, Middendorp not talking about future

Ernst Middendorp's coaching future at Golden Arrows hangs in the balance two weeks after the club played it’s final match of the season.

Middendorp took over at Arrows following the firing of Zoran Filipovic, with five games remaining in the season.

He was hired on a short-term deal until the end of the season, after having been fired himself by Maritzburg United.

But with the season over, questions remain as to whether Middendorp will still be in charge next season.

“That is a nice question that you are asking me, but I am not going to give you any answer. Right now I am on holiday in Johannesburg and will not be making any comment about football,” the nomadic coach tells KickOff.com.

Arrows boss Mato Madlala confirms that despite the fact that the club and coach still want to continue working together, nothing has been finalised as yet.

“Talks are ongoing with the coach regarding his contract; nothing is finalised as yet. But we both want to continue working together,” Madlala says.

Madlala adds that they haven’t released or placed any players on transfer at this stage.
