Fakude, who was brought to Pirates by former striker, Jerry ‘Legs of Thunder’ Skhosana, signed a three-year contract with the Premiership Champions. Speaking to KickOff.com in Midrand at the weekend, the Tembisa-born striker says he was ready to face the challenge of playing for one of the biggest clubs in South Africa. “It’s a dream come true to play for a team like Pirates. The players have given me a warm welcome and guys like Benson Mhlongo have also given me advice about life outside football. “I am glad to get such a great chance of playing for a big team like Pirates and I am ready to grab the opportunity with both hands if I am given an opportunity to play next season.” Fakude discloses that he is not related to the former Bucs player, David Fakude, who also wore the black and white jersey with pride many years ago.

Eish mara... about Otorogu and Msowoya - From my view, these are the strong strikers but Krol needs to understand how to use them well. Unfortunately they won't get that room to show as long as desciplined Mbuyane is still fit.
We have a high expectation from Bongani Ndulula to make us proud in the next season.
Fakude Itches For Pirates Debut
31 May 2011
Orlando Pirates striker, David ‘Anelka’ Fakude, has confirmed to the Siya crew that he is working hard at training to push for a place in the team next season.
The former M-Tigers striker’s skills are still being moulded under the watchful eyes of the Bucs technical team after he convinced them early this year that he is worth playing for the club.
Fakude is confident that with time still on his side the technical team will eventually give him an opportunity to play so that he can prove what he is capable of.
The young striker said that he is happy to see other young players at Pirates like Bongani Ndulula making progress in their careers as that is motivation in its own.
“Maybe I will play next season. As a striker I feel like I can also do what they are doing because it is good. I was scoring lots of goals (at M-Tigers) and I was the top goal scorer,” said Fakude.
