The Al Ahly ace took no part in the crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifier as he has been suffering from a cruciate ligament injury he picked up in September against Sierra Leone.
Egypt’s failure to win for the fourth time in a row virtually ended their hopes of reaching the Nations Cup – for the first time ever.
While Egyptian fans are unhappy with the players, Hassan has defended his teammates on Filgoal.com.
“It was obvious that the players were nervous and this had an direct impact on the performance," he says.
“They felt under enormous pressure because victory was our only option, but I am sure that there was no carelessness.”
Egypt now need a miracle to qualify as second best runner-up, hoping that all groups’ results go in their favour.

Just stop bringing the uprising because when you were playing for WC 2010 qualifying games there was never an uprising that time.
