Orlando Pirates stalwart Lucky Lekgwathi insists his side will do everything they can to win the Nedbank Cup trophy in Nelspruit on Saturday.
The Buccaneers are fresh from winning the League title this past weekend, and Lekgwathi says they will take their winning spirit to the Nedbank Cup Final on Saturday.
“We have gone a long time without winning trophies and we will go all out to win another on Saturday," he says.
“This will be a big ‘thank you’ to our chairman [Irvin Khoza], who kept his promise of concentrating on the team earlier this season, and to our supporters who always come in numbers to support us,” he adds.
“Even last weekend, when we were in second position ahead of the final game, The Ghost did not give up supporting us. That is why we kept on fighting up until the last minute.”
Lekgwathi, who made his 300th appearance for Pirates last week, says they have put their League triumph celebrations behind them and are focusing on the task ahead, which is to win the Treble.
“It’s a final and is a big one for us. After winning the League title, the confidence is very high and we want to take that spirit to the Final and make sure that we do well at the end of the day.
“The coach [Ruud Krol] gave us two days to celebrate and rest after winning the League but it’s now back to business as usual.
"Even this morning he told us that we must forget about having won the League and focus on the task that lies ahead.” he concludes.
