Batau yet to appeal

Batau FC are yet to file an appeal after Black Leopards won their own appeal, in a case that's threatening to impede the Promotional Play-offs.
This is how it has unfolded to date… Leopards were found guilty by the PSL's Disciplinary Committee of fielding a defaulter, Edgar Manaka – who was allegedly not properly registered – in their match against Batau FC at the AJ Swanepoel Stadium on March 6, 2011. They were docked three points for the alleged contravention of the National Soccer League rules.
However, 'Lidoda Duvha' got their points back on Tuesday this week when Safa's appeals board reversed the PSL DC's decision, thus founding in Leopards' favour.
Batau, the team that lodged the protest against Leopards, were informed the same night on Tuesday that they have a right of appeal to arbitration which must be exercised within 72 hours.
According to the League's rules, public holidays and weekends are not counted in such instances and therefore, Wednesday didn't count as part of the 72 hours since there were municipal elections across the country and therefore, a public holiday.
Batau would then have to count Thursday, Friday and Monday next week as their 72 hours to file an appeal to arbitration and the team's boss Senyane Mphethi says he will make a decision on the last day, May 23.
"I'm still going to talk to my attorney on Monday, that's our last day (to file an appeal to Safa) and we will then take a decision," he says.
Should Batau decide not to appeal, Leopards will face either Vasco Da Gama or Moroka Swallows on June 8 and 11 in the two-legged play-off matches, while Thanda Royal Zulu will face either Jomo Cosmos or Bay United on May 25 and May 29.
