Krol wants to leave Bucs with Cup success

Ruud Krol confirms he is leaving Orlando Pirates

Ruud Krol confirms he will be leaving Orlando Pirates when his contract expires next month, but says he hopes to leave the club on a high by winning the Nedbank Cup on May 28.

“Because I’m in the end of my contract and until now I have nothing new from Pirates, so that means I have to leave. My contract is finished, that's what I can say," the coach says, adding that he is happy with what he has achieved with the club.

“I think as a team, as Pirates, playing in three cup finals and playing in the League for the championship till the end, I think then we have did a fantastic job as a team this season and I think we were the most consistent team in the PSL,” he adds.

The Buccaneers had to wait for an extra-time winner against Mpumalanga Black Aces last night, when Tlou Segolela slotted home from Andile Jali’s great individual run, but Aces put up a fight and the match could have gone either way.

Krol heaped praised on Man of the Match Denis Onyango, who kept Amazayoni in the game with some brilliant saves.

“I think we created the chances but of course we must also say the last two games against Santos and today ... if the goalkeeper was not there, and was not playing a fantastic match like today -- the match of his life -- I think we did well but you must also give the credit to goalkeeper today,” he says.

With one hand on the trophy now Krol says he still expects a tough match in the final, considering that the team they will face will have nothing to lose.

“We past difficult opponent in Aces and we are there in the Final and we have to see who is coming to the Final.

"They are a difficult opponent, they have nothing to lose; everybody is expecting Pirates to win and those are always difficult matches."

It will b a big blow 2 OP. Those who understand soccer will agree. The old man broke the 4ever dull record of going empty handed every season. He achieved the best record 4 OP in the past 15 years and again, we all know how good was OP this season. They stand a chance 2 win the league and if they dn't they would given whoever does a run 4 their money.

Krol does not take nonesense and he proved this by releasing the bigheaded Teko who's still cannot prove his worth.

Those who want Krol 2 leave, can u please give ur reasons?

If Krol is leaving I beg Dr Khoza to bring back Makhanya may b the next coach would give him a chance. One thing I'm definetly sure of is Makhanya stil loves Pirates, He served Pirates with distinction. We can't afford to lose such desciplined, loyal and above all quality player like him. We (supporters) also love him a lot.

@swona you are right like a certain team from chloorkop. After loosing 5 games in a row it will be bring back Krol. If Stoichkov was still our coach we will be celebrating the league this season.

South African football never learns same mistakes every year. I am teeling you the coach Sundowns is bringing will never finish the season.

This is Crazy,Why must we account to some people from that Village about Coach Krol's future?,
This is simple ,it's aBussiness decision abd I support Dr K,if Coach krol wins these 2 Cups,he'll get a Contract definitely, but it must have terms, especially our style of play ond ofcourse he must acomodate O.Pirates players and treat them fairly, only 3 must come back from loan,Dukuduku,Kamwendo or Masina then maybe Mthembu or Gert and sign S.Zuma from Vasco,up da Bucs!!!

I'm must confess I'm a bit on the fence when it comes to this guy's stay a Pirates. A few months ago I really could not wait to see him leave this great team comprised of super stars.

He has brought so many positives to the team, team work, unity, hard work, commitment & discipline. I just feel his favoritism is his big weakness together with his unwillingness to take risks when the team is trailing. For some reason since he joined the Happy Team we have had so many credible strikers including the likes of Fanteni but non has managed to set the scene alight. It must have something to do with his tactics.

He has done really well by getting rid of the dead-wood that disguised as good players from our camp. I wish we will keep our squad very small & manageable long after he is gone that's if he's leaving. Supersport has not yet confirmed this rumour generated by kickoff, until then this will remain just that, a gossip.

Oh! They say if you can't beat them then you might as well join them. New Chiefs slogan as they painfully rally behind Baroka FC.

Krol is a good coach, and If it was to be by call or decision, i had like Krol to have his contract extended for atleast further two or three years. He has turned Pirates into a competitive and disciplined team and the team is playing good football. He also reached three finals and compete for PSL tittless till the end only in one season.

He is in three 3 cup finals this year because he has the best, most fit players in the league.
Maybe he is a good trainer but not a master tactician.you could tell even last nite when he wanted to substitute Tlou & should it not being the fans I don't think we could have won because Tlou scored the goal which took us to the final.
Save for that,Bucs is not consistent, not at all.we loose & draw games which we are not suppose to!
But over & above our win credit must go to the players for fighting till to the end.

Guys, lets nt b diplomatic here, its beta 2 quit while u r ahed,if Krol wins Nedbnk cup,he shud go coz he wud hv done enough 2 earn our trust n b welcum shed we need his services in future. If he stays n tings start goin rong, then his image wud b dented n his achivmnts wont count.my opinion is,let him go sumwer n cum back on a fresh start mayb afta 2 sezins.he hs done a gud job bt da fact dat he had da best squad, most of us r nt surprizd n we kinda xpected this based on da playas we had.

Krol must stay at Bucs.
He has brought consistency in the team, something that lacked in the team for a long time and a lot or discipline.
He is a great coach and a good man.I like him to stay at Pirates.
Please Mr Khoza DO NOT LET THIS MAN GO.Please renew his contract or else it's like you will be shooting yourself on your foot.
You will be stupid to let him go.
