Mosimane names Bafana squad

Pitso Mosimane has named the Bafana Bafana squad for the international friendly against Tanzania in Dar es Salaam on May 14.

Mosimane believes Tanzania will give Bafana a run for their money.

“They are a strong team and they are sitting in second place of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and they got a draw against Algeria away from home. I’m happy they will be calling up their three overseas-based players,” he says.

Bafana’s overseas-based players are unavailable for the match, apart from Bernard Parker who is available as the Greek season has ended.

Tanzania are in Group D of the Afcon qualifiers, together with Central Africa, Morocco and Algeria.

Mosimane revealed he wanted a few players from Ajax Cape Town, but the Urban Warriors have declined the invitation and, because of the Nedbank Cup semi-finals, there are no players from Orlando Pirates or Mpumalanga Black Aces.

Siphiwe Tshabalala will captain the team.

Bafana squad to face Tanzania:

Goalkeepers: Itumeleng Khune, Wayne Sandilands.

Defenders: Morgan Gould, Siyanda Xulu, Eric Mathoho, Mzivukile Tom, Prince Hlela, Siyabonga Sangweni, Tefu Mashamaite, Siyanda Zwane.

Midfielders: Hlompho Kekana, Thanduyise Khuboni, Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Thandani Ntshumayelo, Thabo Matlaba, Erwin Isaacs, Siphiwe Tshabalala, Sifiso Myeni.

Strikers: Bernard Parker, Vuyisile Wana, Lehlohonolo Majoro, Katlego Mphela.

Does it really matter because it involves cows from teams whose season has ended? They could have even taken the entire Cabbage Farm FC to play there. To me what matters is the league and Nedbank.

@Swine, I suspect you are the one having reading problems. I don't take journalist stories bcos more of them are just lazy and they rely on copy and paste. If these journalist we good they were supposed to provide us a reason why Ajax players are excluded not the crap they are telling us. According to my understanding there's 4 teams in NEDBANK: Aces, Orphans, Baroka and Leopards.

If AJAX management think that they are special something should be done to deal with them accordingly, how do you decline players to serve the national duty while they have nothing to do.

Reserves:
Sandilands - Zwane, Mothoho, Mashaimate, Hlela - Isaacs, Kekana, Ntshumayelo, Matlaba - Majoro, Wana.
In my opinion, Bryce Moon deserves a recall at rightback and Bradley Grobler at least a look-in at number 9. Wana and Majoro were good in their honeymoon season BUT their real test is next season when they are no longer UNKNOWNS. Good selections though except for Siyanda Xulu who is NOT good at rightback.
