Nigeria beat Mali in the African Youth Championship

Nigeria reach AYC Final

Posted: 2011-04-28 14:17

Nigeria's Under-20 team restored some of their diminished swagger in a controlling performance as they beat Mali 2-0 to reach the Final of the African Youth Championship.

Uche Nwofor bagged his third goal of the tournament in the first half, and Stanley Okoro claimed his second with a penalty on the stroke of full time, after Kayode Olanrewaju was felled in the box.

A grim performance, littered with stray passing, ended in a 1-0 defeat to Cameroon in their second group game of the campaign.

A 2-0 defeat of Gambia sealed qualification without being convincing, but the same cannot be said of the semifinal triumph over Group A winners Mali.

The Flying Eagles never looked in danger of conceding from the Malians, who only mustered one effort in target in 90 minutes.

And when Nwofor tapped in from close range after just 22 minutes, the encounter looked done and dusted.
Nwofor could have added a second with the last kick of the half, but was denied by goalkeeper Sy's exceptional save.

Mali hugged possession in the second period, but found the Nigeria defence unyielding.

Their fate was finally sealed when Olanrewaju forced his way into the box, to be scythes down by the desperate Diallo.

Okoro, on as an 89th minute substitute, had had enough of a feel for the ball to stroke it confidently past Sy.

The Nigerians will now await the winners of the second semifinal between Cameroon and Egypt.

well done boys! We can win the cup and we will. Please win it for Olubayo Adefemi.
I would have loved to see a match between these physical Malians against the Camerounians. Anyway, it is not too late as both teams might slug it out in the third place if Cameroun fails to win Egypt. Once again, well done John Obuh and his lads.

This is a world class performance by Nigeria. I watched everybit of it. With this type of perfomance give us Cameroun or Egypt and Nigeria will still triumph I don't fear any team. Ahmed Musa was NOT missed at all that's what I call a good coach, good coaching acumen, well done John Obuh.

Best perfomance so far from the Flying Eagles. This team will go places with this perfomance. Every department of the team played well from defence to midfield to attack. This team will beat Cameroun silly! I am proud to be a Nigerian. Where are the Ghanaians?

SUYA: 2011-04-28 14:41

I do not want to sound or appear pessimistic, but if you did watch that match, you will pause before congratulating this team. It reminded me the same team that Nigeria took to Canada in 2007. A lot need to be done before the WYC in central America.

OkonHouseBoy: 2011-04-28 14:41

these boys are certainly not Under-20. if they want disgrace and real challenge, they should play USA under-20. Stanley Okoro that i know personally is 26years old.

For the first time we played very well but we could have beaten Mali 4-0 with young boys not with this over-aged 'PAPAS'

Win the cup for PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN! The man who is striving hard to bring dignity to the country.

I read someone said you should win it for Olufemi Adebayo. While I sympathies with his family, I do not the best way to motivate our players is for them to play for the dead. Olufemi Adebayo is dead so live with it. Like its said, "THE BEST THE LIVING CAN DO FOR THE DEAD IS TO KEEP ON LIVING".

So, please play for your lives like never before and win it for our darling president and every other Nigerian living!

@OkonHouseBoy, that’s why you will remain a house boy, houseboys are slaves who don’t see what their masters see. If all you can see in this world class performance are ages then you can send a mail to Mr Sepp Blatter that Stanley Okoro is 26yrs old. Useless Houseboy!

As for you @Billion, I don’t even know your personality both you and your twin brother (self styled original Billion), both of you are suffering from phrezotomania syndrome. It’s an ailment that causes hallucinations in the brain and causes sleep disorders. Please see a physician fast!

Billion: 2011-04-28 15:25

Considering the time and preparation of Obuh and his players, their performance is suspect & below excellence. If they continue like this to the world cup, the cries of Nigerians against the team will be worse than Amodu's. I hope we go on to become African champion!

@SUYA, As much as I welcome constructive criticism please let us give this team a chance, they will get better with time. No team is perfect in all departments, I am sure more players will join before the world cup, but before that time I wanna celebrate this victory.
@To Hell With Ghana!: Please watch what you write! I would rather play for a fallen colleague than anyone else. Have some respect for a fallen hero please! It is not a new thing for colleagues to play for a dead and falling hero, Cameroun did it in 2005 for the late Mark Vivien-Foe, and a match was played for him and proceeds giving to his widow while the Green Eagles did it for the late Sam Okparaji in 1990. Please keep your peace if you don’t know anything. Silence is golden. I would rather play for a fallen colleague and hero than to play for a politician.

I can authoritatively say that its only Egypt and Nigeria that comes to this tournament with young players. The rest countries especially Gambia, Mali and cameroon parade over aged players. Take it or leave it.

icethug: 2011-04-28 16:17

Mr obuh, please work on this team and tell the midfielders and defenders to please release their ***** on time, i almost had a heart attack when your defenders instead of clearing the ball from our 18 yard box, they were busy making mumu passes to the malians, i want to believe that this is not our best team, cause if it is we will only make up the numbers at the world tournament proper.
As for those saying these boys are overaged, well take a good look at the malians and camerounians.
There is room for improvement.

You are just a nincompoop and a disgusting unintelligent person. Before you begin to cry more than the bereaved, why dont you start to read all the comments from the beginning? Do you at all know when a comment is a reaction to an earlier one? I believe you just want to feel you contributed something.

Do you know what it means to drag someone's name into a discussion? I remain firm in my assertion that the Flying Eagles should not play for the dead but for the living! Maybe you are a living-dead but I dont care and hold you or anybody no apology.

Finally, THE BEST THE LIVING CAN DO FOR THE DEAD, IS TO KEEP ON LIVING.

It's quite unfortunate that some member of this forum don't read the march or understand what they call game plan before their usual criticism of the players and coaches. they always expect the team to play like premiership/Laliga team, let learn to encourage our team positively ...i will not be suprice if this guy wake up one day and say SIASIA is the worst coach ever mark my word.

To Hell With Ghana!: 2011-04-28 16:47

@ Throw In:

True, Super Eagles did it for Sam Okwaraji. That was a match organized to raise some money for the family. Cameroon did it also to honor Vivien Foe. I am not disputing it. However just because they did it doe not mean you have to tell someone to base his action or service on a dead person.

"Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect His will really is." - Romans 12:2 NLT

In a game of football, you play for yourselves and for the entertainment and enjoyment of those living. This is what I meant. I based my comment on what @ Eric said "...Please win it for Olubayo Adefemi."

I have nothing against the guy who has passed on. I loved him when he was alive and contributed his quota to the National team. But he is gone and there is nothing anybody can do to bring him back. Instead of dwelling in the past and play for someone who will never be here again, why dont you do same for those who are still living?

Now is it possible to play and win something for a dead or living person?

no be una fault: 2011-04-28 17:11

@To Hell With Ghana, to read your last comment with a bible quotation in it is really funny going by your screen name, you seriously need an attitude adjustment

and you said and i quote: "THE BEST THE LIVING CAN DO FOR THE DEAD IS TO KEEP ON LIVING"

you sound like the living holds the key to their longevity on earth wont you rather say "the best thing the living can do for themselves is to live right for no one knows wen death will come knocking on your door"

unless if you as a person is "LIVING FOR THE DEAD" which the earlier part of your comment literally frown at.

For the FE i believe they can do well in the WYC.

@ no be una fault:

The word, "THE BEST THE LIVING CAN DO FOR THE DEAD IS TO KEEP LIVING" simply infer that if a person is dead, it does not mean the living must continue to dwell on him/her, instead you keep on living your life thats the best honor you can give a dead person.

Even someone who is dead will not want you not to live your life. He or she has completed his/her chapter in life and its time for others to move on. Its like reading a novel, when you complete a chapter, you move on to the next; thats life!

You said I "need an attitude adjustment". On what basis do you base this? In life we cannot all agree on something. So if I have a different opinion or thinking with you, does it qualify me for "an attitude adjustment"?. Please elaborate

Izu: 2011-04-28 17:31

You are so stupid and ignorant. This is U20 and not super eagles. And if you meant U20, let me remind you that with a hostile Sani Lulu that did not fund siasia for preparation that he had to go begging instead of focussing on the job as coach he not only qualified for the world cup and got to the finals he also won the U20 ACN. Now its NIGERIA vs CAMEROON for finals.

This is a battle the Flying Eagles cannot afford to not win. They fell before, now its time to take their stand again.

According to the great Bob Marley:

Rise up fallen fighters; (FLYING EAGLES)
Rise and take your stance again.
'Tis he who fights and run away (CAMEROON)
Live to fight another day.

CHORUS: With de heathen back dey 'pon de wall!
De heathen back, yeah, 'pon de wall!
De heathen back dey 'pon de wall!
De heathen back, yeah, 'pon de wall!

As a man sow, shall he reap (FLYING EAGLES, PLAY WELL & CARRY THE CUP)
And I know that talk is cheap. (SOME PEOPLE MAY THINK I AM MAD)
But the hotter the battle (WITH YOUR ENERGY)
A the sweeter Jah victory. (BRING THE CUP TO NIGERIA)

CHORUS: With de heathen back dey 'pon de wall!
De heathen back, yeah, 'pon de wall!
De heathen back dey 'pon de wall!
De heathen back, yeah, 'pon de wall!

Stanley is not as intelligent as you want to sound. Read his comments and decide. I never know Frank Lampard said he dedicates his goals to his late mom. But even if he said it, does that make it right?

iron kurtain: 2011-04-28 18:51

@stanley thats your own opinion and i respect it cos it is generally known that it is bad to disrespect the dead.......but there is no need to go ballistic especially if the next guy fails to reason with you......besides late adefemi probably never gave a rat ass about what people said about him when he was living and i believe he still dont as he is dwelling in the bossom of our lord

To Hell With Ghana!: 2011-04-28 18:57

@ iron kurtain:

Let me ask you a question.

1. When you play a game, who gives strength? Is it not proper to dedicate a win to God.
2. Is it right to dedicate a win to the dead or a living person?

Stanley is just a child who does not know his right from left. He is trying in vain to be too self-righteous. What does he mean by disrespecting the dead?

Please read all my post and show me where I insulted the dead guy, or said any disparaging about him. He is dead and gone forever. So if Stanley likes, he should go sleep with him.

iron kurtain: 2011-04-28 19:04

To Hell With Ghana!: 2011-04-28 19:15

@ iron kurtain:

One thing I like about KON is the fact that no matter what, there is always something to learn from even if the topic sometimes deviates from football matter.

My friend, when you dedicate, it means:
3. A devoting or setting aside for any particular purpose; as, a dedication of lands to public use.
2. An address to a patron or friend, prefixed to a book, testifying respect, and often recommending the work to his special protection and favor.
3. The act of setting apart or consecrating to a divine Being, or to a sacred use, often with religious solemnities; solemn appropriation; as, the dedication of Solomon's temple.

After going through these, you will find out that its only a SACRED thing you dedicate something to. That thing must mean a lot to your heart e.g. worshiping the stuff. So if from the bottom of your heart you set-aside a winning to the dead, you are invariably worshiping the dead.

So if you worship the dead, it called VENERATION OF THE DEAD, which is based on the belief that the deceased, often family members, have a continued existence and/or possess the ability to influence the fortune of the living.

Luke 4:8, Jesus replied, "The Scriptures say, 'You must worship the LORD your God and serve only Him. So if you dedicate something to the dead, are you not contravening the dictates of God? I know you would want to say my screen name is "To Hell With Ghana" but I will advise that you ENJOY THE RICE, FORGET THE STONE.

iron kurtain: 2011-04-28 19:17

dude i get my strength cos i take care of myself, eat good food, have good rest and work hard in the game to gain more knowlegde about the game.......if you like pray from january till december....without those things about you will lose and lose woefully......well if you win games and dedicate it to God then go ahead since you believe it is right but dont force people to do as you do or think as you do

iron kurtain: 2011-04-28 19:28

well you are right as a christian but i would love to see you say it to a buddhist monk or another person practising another religion other than christianity.......even the definition of dedication you showed is contradicting what you said the bible says.....besides no one said flying eagles matches should be dedicated to adefemi but they should try to win the tournament for him which means if they win it, anytime we or future generation go through our history of football and trophy.......the one of AYC 2011 will always make us remeber the passing away of a great nigerian footballer....no one is talking about worshipping adefemi.....no one is talking about worship the dead here

To Hell With Ghana!: 2011-04-28 19:38

@ iron kurtain:

I may never know what the principles of Buddhism or other religions are because I am not one of them or have not taken my time to try to study them.

I never said anybody suggested worshiping the dead guy. I just linked the "win it for...." and dedication. You were the very first person to use the word "dedicating" on this forum. Here it is,

"but ......@to hell with ghana.......when frank lampard scored goals for chelsea he always pointed to the sky and it meant he is dedicating it to his mom who passed away.......".

You can see where my opinion on dedicating something came from. You want to be sure? Okay on your PC keyboard, click on "ctrl" and F together. A small box will appear, then type in the word "dedica" like you want to type "dedicating" and you will see it will point it out to you as the first to use the word.

I can never force anyone to think as I do and do not expect anyone to try to force me. I only share my views and read views from others.

iron kurtain: 2011-04-28 19:39

dedication or to dedicate means different in whatever you do or practice

politics------he dedicated his life to fighting corruption

religion-------NUNS dedicated their entire body and soul to serving God

to offer formally---------- (a book, piece of music, etc.) to a person, cause, or the like in testimony of affection or respect, as on a prefatory page.

so my friend stop confusing yourself

luke : 2011-04-28 19:43

@ iron kurtain:

to offer formally---------- (a book, piece of music, etc.) to a person, cause, or the like in testimony of affection or respect, as on a prefatory page.

If you are to offer formally, how do you offer it to someone that is no more? You can see you are shooting yourself by the foot.

Tell me, how has the 3 definitions you offered blended with the discussion or argument?

To Hell With Ghana!: 2011-04-28 19:46

@ Luke:

Maybe your phone is spiritual. It knows the BABA! hahahahahahahahahahaha

iron kurtain: 2011-04-28 19:53

well go tell those musicians that are dedicating some tracks or songs to someone they lost or a friend that passed way that they are all wrong.....tell those that dedicated songs to fela, dagrin, tupac shakur, notorious b.i.g,samuel okwaraji, and the rest that they are all wrong.....gosh no wonder stanley is so pissed at you......you claim to come here and learn thing but you strike me as someone who never learns or learned anything

iron kurtain: 2011-04-28 19:56

@ luke those are our real name or surname there is no law that say it must be used and beside you could see people having similar names which could lead to conflicting post

iron kurtain: 2011-04-28 20:04

you are asking me how the three blended with the argument.......well this is what you said dedication means

My friend, when you dedicate, it means:
3. A devoting or setting aside for any particular purpose; as, a dedication of lands to public use.
2. An address to a patron or friend, prefixed to a book, testifying respect, and often recommending the work to his special protection and favor.
3. The act of setting apart or consecrating to a divine Being, or to a sacred use, often with religious solemnities; solemn appropriation; as, the dedication of Solomon's temple.

but you failed to see you are only defining from a religious point of view ......am giving you a wider or rather a broader definition.....but you still prefer to play a religion fanatic

mattmega: 2011-04-28 20:09

I live in the spiritual, you live in the pheriperal.
To be alive or dead is spiritual.
To win or lose is spiritual.
You may never understand.
What you see standing, I will see sitting.
Continue to dedicate yourself to the dead.

Guys, you all crack me up here. I have been laughing and laughing uncontrolably. So it looks like we are all in for English 101 from the 4 professors on this column. For the guy that says that his phone gives a different ID, i wonder what is going on. But that is so funny too. I love you all Nigerians only if you can keep away from insulting each other but concentrating on issues while respecting other's point of view. Thank you

When are you guys going to grow up?????
Why do you always go to KOG and post comments?? You are everywhere!! What is your problem??? Your are everywhere.
Please leave the Ghanaians alone. They can take care of themselves.

What is wrong with you, are you okay upstairs?
Just because you guys are out, thats why we dont hear from your folks again.

A big congrate to my dear country NAIJA and JONH UBOH.

iron kurtain: 2011-04-28 22:35

@to hell with ghana ..........first of all i dont dedicate myself to dead people......there is a different between dedicating oneself and dedicating something else.......
secondly you are not spiritual......let me show you things that a spiritual life should entail

1) Deep connections with others

2) Seeking wisdom

3) Striving for growth

4) Drawing closer to a higher power or nature

5) Tolerance and forgiveness of others

iron kurtain: 2011-04-28 22:36

if you had tolerance and forgiveness, you wouldnt have engaged in a cussing competition with stanley........
if you were striving for growth you would have at least taken notes of what i have said and corrected me in places i made mistakes with correct references.......
if you were seeking wisdom you wouldnt be showing people how you are a church going bible quoting know it better than thou person.......
and most of all if you are drawing closer to higher power or nature, you would have known that dedication doesnt necessarily means worshipping.
dude dont you say prayers for family members or loved ones that are either sick, living or passed away in the church.
does it mean you are worshipping them?.arent the prayers that are being said dedicated to them?.....
what about prayers for the saints.......dude you are in no way spiritual.......

iron kurtain: 2011-04-28 22:36

you are just a confused dude who thinks he knows a great deal about religion and spirituality and always creaming
hard in his pants just to write bull**** response to posts that dont seem to agree with what you feel is right according
to you and fail to see you are confused or confusing things.......
look at how you are talking about how spiritual you are as if spirituality is something we grade by rankings..........
cant see while standing??? dude the things i have seen you will never see in your life time with this attitude
and the things i know you can never and will never ever know with the way you think.....
no need arguing with you man and done talking to closed minded people cos they are the ones that pisses me off and
i just want to enjoy the good news of flying eagles going to the final...... am sorry for trying to make you see reasons

Bona: 2011-04-28 23:01

Thanks boys for making us proud but you guys should watch it against Cameroon, that match is not going to be easy. Best of luck

To Hell With Ghana!: 2011-04-28 23:13

@ iron kurtain:

It is evident that you cannot give a Physics text book to a primary 1 pupil; he will never comprehend whats in it!

All of a sudden you are filled with wisdom. Some moments ago when I asked where you get your strength from you gave the kudos to yourself instead of God. "...take care of myself, eat good food, have good rest and work hard". To you, eating of good food is all that matters to you in life.

I can see from the tone in your write-up that to come as an inpatient person, who does not look before leaping. I asked you some basic questions but till now, you have failed to answer them (go through my post again).

You myopic perception makes you believe every comment is fighting. I am not fighting Stanley, no matter how you read my comments. I am also not fighting you. In every thing you must learn to accept other people views and also give yours. When I said the best the living can do the dead is to keep on living... It is non of your business neither is it Stanley's. I have aired my opinion so what is the fuss about. If you dont like my comment, thats your business but if you comment to tell me why you do not like it, I will comment to tell you why I believe its so; its a two-way thing.

"if you had tolerance and forgiveness, you wouldnt have engaged in a cussing competition with stanley........"

I believe you meant "cursing". Point out one curse I made to Stanley, since you are the defender.

"if you were striving for growth you would have at least taken notes of what i have said and corrected me in places i made mistakes with correct references......."

I never tried to correct you but just give you my point of view. When I want to correct you, then it means you are wrong. You gave your point and I gave mine. Its left for you to believe whatever you want to believe.

"if you were seeking wisdom you wouldnt be showing people how you are a church going bible quoting know it better than thou person......."

To quote verses of the Bible does not make one better or superior to another. This stems from the general "bad belle" syndrome. Have you ever taken part in a debate? In a debate you do not have to pour out your emotions and thats exactly what you are doing with your comments.

"and most of all if you are drawing closer to higher power or nature, you would have known that dedication doesnt necessarily means worshipping."

I never said "dedication" meant "worshiping". In one of my comments, I said, "...you are invariably worshiping the dead". The meaning of "invariably" is "almost always", which is not a word of totality.

"dude dont you say prayers for family members or loved ones that are either sick, living or passed away in the church."

Yes I have done prayers for the above. What is your point? When you say a team should channel their energy and win a game for a dead person, is that a prayer?

"does it mean you are worshipping them?.arent the prayers that are being said dedicated to them?....."

To "Pray for somebody' is different from "Praying to somebody", thats idol worshiping...

"what about prayers for the saints.......

Who are the saints?

"dude you are in no way spiritual.......""

Now you are passing judgement on me. Matthew 7:1, "Judge not, that ye be not judged." May God have mercy on your soul.

Noel: 2011-04-28 23:46

this site is very funny. i laugh when i see some of the comments. it is a football site, political site, abusing someone site now religion don enter. nigerians, we are truly passionate people. i don't think i would have liked to come from another country.

luke : 2011-04-28 23:51

@To hell with ghana &
@iron kurtain
It is quite clear that if u guys endeavour to enlighten each other frm now till tomorrow, u wont come to common ground of understanding. So pls let sleeping dogs lie.

iron kurtain: 2011-04-28 23:59

dude before you correct someone you have to check....google the word cussing......i know what cursing is and what cussing is too......i am healthy COS i eat well, sleep well and take care of my body simple......as for GOD i thank him for making it possible for me to take care of my body by giving me life, sense and reasoning.....its up to me to use it.......and if there is nothing wrong in praying for someone then whats wrong in winning a game for someone?? isnt it not the same for??.....dude you are just exposing your ignorance that all

luke : 2011-04-29 00:03

@To hell with ghana

why do u hate ghana so much so that u came up with this funny name/title

iron kurtain: 2011-04-29 00:04

heheheheheheeh it means almost??? just look at what you are saying.....dude it is either totality or not........half truth is not truth,.......it is almost a goal doesnt mean its a goal, the cup is half full doesnt means it is full.....so stop talking like a 3 year old kid

iron kurtain: 2011-04-29 00:07

nobody said they team should win and say thank you to adefemi.....but rather they should strive hard to win the trophy so as to dedicate it to him......dude go check the broader definition of dedicate

iron kurtain: 2011-04-29 00:13

you are not fighting with stanley but this is your post to him

@ Stanley:

You are just a nincompoop and a disgusting unintelligent person. Before you begin to cry more than the bereaved, why dont you start to read all the comments from the beginning? Do you at all know when a comment is a reaction to an earlier one? I believe you just want to feel you contributed something.

Do you know what it means to drag someone's name into a discussion? I remain firm in my assertion that the Flying Eagles should not play for the dead but for the living! Maybe you are a living-dead but I dont care or owe you or anybody no apology.

so you want to tell me you were praising him

iron kurtain: 2011-04-29 00:21

you cant tell me that over hundred thousand nigerians that are telling the flying eagles to win the tournament for the late adefemi are wrong cos you think that winning a match so as to dedicate it to the memory of that person means you are worshipping dead people......you are talking about judging........you cant say am judging you when you are painting the room blue and say you are painting red and i disagree with you

iron kurtain: 2011-04-29 00:42

am not fighting with you, neither am i impatient or whatever, all am saying is the word dedicate could mean alot of things depending on where you use it......you may just be seeing or only want to see it in a religious context......but it is and will always be what it is

iron kurtain: 2011-04-29 00:53

am not fighting with you, neither am i impatient or whatever, all am saying is the word dedicate could mean alot of things depending on where you use it......you may just be seeing or only want to see it in a religious context......but it is and will always be what it is

kennyenz: 2011-04-29 01:27

congrats to our dear flying eagles for getting to the finals, and we hope and pray that they complete the mission by bringing the trophy to Nigeria.@To hell with Ghana....ur philosophy is too bad,i`m not trying to judge you,but i don`t see anything bad in winning the trophy for our Dead hero@Okon the house boy...if stanley okoro happens to be 26 yrs old,so ur trying to tell the world that caf and fifa that gave him the accreditation seems to be stupid?..

To Hell With Ghana!: 2011-04-29 02:24

@ iron kurtain:

You have done well by posting my response to Stanley but it would be better if you can copy and post Stanley's very first comment to me. In any case, within you I am fighting Stanley, but within me, I am not. When you give a comment good or bad, I will respond.

Talking about over 100,000 thousand people agreeing that the Flying Eagles should win the cup for the dead. If 1million people say so, does that mean it is right? In this life, we have copied so many things but what we copy may not make it right. In this life, whatever we do must be to the glory of God. This is my point. So when I said this and someone started to insult me and I responded, I do not believe I have erred.

In Nigeria or the world today, we have millions of Gays ad Lesbians. Having so many people in that way of life does not mean its right. We have so many people who worship the dead (Voodooism), but that does not make it right.

In this life, so many thing seem right in our thinking but unconsciously we are pleasing the devil. "The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice", Proverbs 12:15

I believe the dead is dead and no amount of dedication or winning something for him/her can change anything! I also said instead of winning for the dead, why not motivate them to win for the president and every Nigerian living. Is there anything bad in asking that the cup be won for the living?

You are making your point and I am making mine. Its no fight. I love every Nigerian to the skin, flesh and bone.

kempi: 2011-04-29 02:53

Colin, I want to say "thank you" to you for a very fair, if not "almost clear/exact" report of the first semi final of the on-going U-21 AYC. I sat at a very "vantage" position in the stadium, and without any distraction/s, I watched the game very keenly and saw every second of it. Yet, I couldn't believe what I read on Supersports (TV) news report - a total contrast. Even more shocking was Supersports' report of the second semi final - that Egypt dominated the first half of the game. I really wonder what matches they watched. [If I (or my mind/set of eyes) was biased against Mali, I surely was "sane" during the Cameroun-Egypt match].

@To Hell With Ghana, Can you please stop all this mess you have created in the name of God! Adefemi Olufemi was buried in Atan cemetery today, we owe him all the respect we can, his family is still grieving, his fiancé of whom he was coming home to marry is still grieving, stop speaking ill of the dead and allow him to rest in peace.
I choose not to pursue this matter further with you thinking you will see reason but it is like the more other forumites beg you to stop this the more the fire in you ignites. Even your Bible quotations are so in-coherent and out of tune, you apply the wrong quotation to a wrong situation, I suggest you go to a Bible school to learn how to apply the word of God at a given situation instead committing blasphemy. The best we owe Adefemi Olubayo is to allow him to rest in peace whether we play for him or not. Allow him to go home peacefully. Whether Flying Eagles play for the dead or the dead play for the living or the living play for the living (or whatever way you decide to term it) is not for you to decide Mr Know-all. I would rather we don’t pursue this matter any longer please. If FE decides to play and win for Adefemi Olubayo on Sunday so be it. It is not for you decide. Please allow sleeping dogs lie, I beg you.
