Sunderland manager Steve Bruce says his Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan is unlikely to take any further part in the season after his injury over the weekend.
Gyan took his Premiership tally into double figures against Wigan in Saturday but limped off with a hamstring injury that the Sunderland boss fears curtails his involvement in the rest of the season.
"We're unlikely to have Gyan and Welbeck for the rest of the season," Bruce told BBC. "It was nice to win, but we're training with 13 fit players now."
Gyan arrived as a 13-million pound acquisition from Stade Rennes in the summer and has slotted in well.
