Baroka FC ready for Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup

Baroka coach warns Chiefs

Posted: 2011-04-20 06:44

Sello Chokoe tells KickOff.com that Kaizer Chiefs will have to sweat for victory when they play his boys, Baroka FC, on Sunday.

The Vodacom League outfit raised eyebrows when they beat PSL side Moroka Swallows to reach the Nedbank Cup last eight round, and Chokoe is adamant it was not a fluke.

"We want it badly and the fact that we are completing our League programme on Wednesday against Nobella FC means we will focus only on Chiefs," he tells KickOff.com.

"If you look at the way we played against Swallows, let alone that they were playing their second team, you will realise tactically we were very disciplined and we were never too excited like youngsters appearing on TV for the first time! The players were cool and calm," the 28-year-old says.

"Our game plan will be for Chiefs as a whole, not necessarily to keep specific players quiet "
- Sello Chokoe

"Even if the stadium is full we won't make schoolboy errors for Kaizer Chiefs to win. They must come with a tactical plan that will be stronger than ours. It won't be a walk in the park for them, definitely.

"We are lucky to have played a Premiership team before, so playing against another Premiership team won't be a problem for us. Chiefs will get the respect they deserve off-the-field, but on the field we are surely going to make life difficult for them," he continues.

Chokoe says Sekorokoro's plan is not to focus on certain Amakhosi players.

"We can't overlook players such as Musona and Tshabalala, but our game-plan will be for Chiefs as a whole, not necessarily to keep specific players quiet," he says.

"We also have a lot of players to look out for; players like Katlego Mashego, who was tormenting the Swallows' defence in terms of pace, so he will be a key player. Also keep a close eye on our striker Thobani Mncwango," Chokoe concludes.

Mashego, who has starred for Amabinneplaas, has been linked with a move to Bloemfontein Celtic.

Talk is cheap Mr Idiot coach. Soccer is not like playstation, what guarantee do u have that ur players won't make schoolboy mistakes. U can't compare chiefs with swallows who are fighting to join u in the bundus. My idvise is that u will have to tripple ur eforts to secure at least a draw after 120 minutes.

Njabzah Zuma (4-OPFC): 2011-04-20 07:40

Ayeye Boby FC, The Takalani FC is after your blood and they stand a chance to beat you...

Hhayi khona!

Swona Champ!: 2011-04-20 07:41

I dont think this guy is an idiot, he is not where he is due to luck, but proper planning and tictical awareness, wherether swallows played a weak team or not, those are Swallows players who plays in the PSL!

Proffesor: 2011-04-20 07:44

Why is he speaking a lot like he defeated an A side of Swallows? They defeated the name Swallows not the senior players who defeated Vasco 3-2. I think Sello aka ‘Michael Jackson’ is that to have a big mouth. Come weekend VV must make him eat that glove!

Swona Champ!: 2011-04-20 07:47

but for Baroka to beat Chiefs is another thing, dont see them achieving that dream, but with the unstable minded VV, anything is possible for Baroka!

thabo_glad_mphela: 2011-04-20 07:50

The coach is not talking too much. he knows that cHIVs always struggle against the lower division teams. So Amakhoisan u shld b worried. U nearly lost to Nathi Lions....tnx to referee wo helped u to win!

LESEGO: 2011-04-20 08:06

Lemme rephrase, it's okay for Baroka FC coach to hope for the victory over Chiefs, otherwise he wouldn't be a coach but for some other clowns here to think that this team would beat the Cup KINGS, that's foolish, we know it's not gonna happen, it's all good, people are entitled to their opinions, we look forward to beating Orlando BarokaDowns FC, this is a cup game and we all know what happens in cup games, as Wits found out recently, and before that, "pretenders" from Orlando found out the hard way when they got a 3-0 pasting in a cup final!!!!!!!!!!

vusi : 2011-04-20 08:12

5 - 0 to chiefs

vuyonts: 2011-04-20 08:17

Mr Choekoe please dont be over confident as Chiefs and Swallows dont play the same style of football.

robby : 2011-04-20 08:18

baroka 2-1 chiefs.believe it or not, nedbank is not naturena material to call it lyk dat.

Timitayol: 2011-04-20 08:22

Those who are talking abt Jessica must just leave her alone, what did the late Zodwa K did with young players at pie-city, the likes of makhanya, Vilakazi, etc. She also harrassed them emotionally. So stop throwing stones if u know that u are living in a glass house.

thivhu....: 2011-04-20 08:26

Kaizer Chiefs will have to sweat for victory when they play his boys...

the statement means, Chiefs will win the game, but they have to sweat for it, this is what the coach is saying.

Back with the Nedbank trophy!

deBuc: 2011-04-20 08:30

This stupid full must just shut up!!! I love my Orlando Pirates and there is no way baroka is going to beat chips if they talk too much like this. Ask Gordon, mashamaite etc... Leave them to Mighty we will sort them out. Semifinals Pirates & Chips!!!!!

With due respect to Mr Chokoe's success in the Nedbank Cup as well as his team run in the SAFA Limpopo Vodacom Second Division League, i'm much convinced that his talking is now irritating.
To be honest, Baroka FC were lucky to host amateur side in the last-32 whom they beat 2-0 in the extra time playing at home, they were also very lucky to have drew Swallows which was facing relegation and was to play Pirates in 4 days time from their game against Baroka. Thus Swallows fielding a below average team. Words of Baroka's coach will definately motivate Chiefs even worse, i expected Baroka's coach to be diplomatic in all his response to the media. What if Chiefs beat him 10-0 on Sunday? That'll kill his team ahead of the SAFA Vodacom play offs as well end his career as a Coach. Mr Chokoe has a long way to learn to become a better coach he think he's currently. He has no formal coaching qualification yet he's talking tactics and technicals where did he learn all that? He better watch what he says or else football will vomit him out. Not long ago he was some sort of players agent and now a coach. Is there no conflict of interest to that?

Hahahaha, Coach/couch, please watch your mouth. Wits talked exactly like you are doing now and what happened there will remain a mystery in history. This foolish coach was asking Pie-Doms to rally behind his team a week ago...hehehe. Fans for rent, please contact Irvin Khoza and Patrice Motsepe. Perhaps they can make this a standing arrangement as Pie-Doms have been struggling to outnumber the Mighty Amakhosi whenever they have met, but with a few Barokas for rent, it might look slighty better in terms of "outnumbering" the Mighty Amakhosi. Having said that...I rest my case!

King the Village Queen, your obsession with JM will kill you. Rather concentrate on improving your life by installing internet at home as we all have. Stop wasting Company resources as you might get in trouble and please next time before you open your stinking mouth...Ask yourself what the cause of Zodwa's death was. Village Fool!!!

Baroka will easily win this one.The Apes will freez this winter

Lesiba.Lakes : 2011-04-20 09:43

I expected Sello Chokoe as a qualified attorney to be diplomatic when dealing with media or else not far the media will destroy him. Kaizer Chiefs FC are a big Club with rich history and V.V is his senior. Chokoe should have been modesty in when talking of Chiefs and V.V as well as players. Sello Chokoe should treat Chiefs game a big learning experience in his career as such opportunities arises once in a life time for coaches. To have played Chiefs in a competitive match at his age as coach is an awesome achievement. However he should control his appearance and availability to the media. Limelight and spotlight has two ways, positive and negative. He's now enjoyin the positive side but when the other side appears he'll want to be below the surface.

S\'javo: 2011-04-20 09:44

chiefs were going to field fringe players but now that you are starting to win the game off the field we have no chice but to field a strong team so that we can whip your a.s.s by big margins.

With due respect to you Lesiba.Lakes and other abboons in Napyrena.Chiefs always choke when ever it/they play a lower division team.i dont want to remind you of Univesity of pretoria, cape town FC or Either nathi lions. It shows that the is nothing special about chimps or Baboons( as they are known in Nappyrena)..
the only way of Chimpsbabooons to win this one is through extra time or on penalties.
NB: Stop calling urslfs the best team in Africa while you havent played in africa for the past 10 years..

You are all the moemish in Nappyrena'AND THAT IS A FACT!
