VV: Isaacs has personal problems

Kaizer Chiefs suffer a setback ahead of Nedbank Cup natch

Posted: 19 April 2011 Time: 4:10 pm

Kaizer Chiefs have suffered a setback in their defence ahead of their Nedbank Cup last eight match against Baroka FC on Sunday in Polokwane.

Valery Nahayo saw red against Black Aces over the weekend, which rules him out of the cup match and on Tuesday, Dominic Isaacs didn't train with the team.   Head coach Vladimir Vermezovic explains: "Dominic he got some personal problems and today asked for a day off. He made training yesterday but today he was off and you have to respect their (players) private lives," Vermezovic revealed.   Isaacs is likely, however, to make the trip to partner Thomas Sweswe in central defence, but whether Isaacs will be in the right state of mind is a subject for another debate. Isaacs declined to comment.   Vermezovic added that Siphiwe Tshabalala will be ready for the match despite still being on the treatment table for an ankle injury. He missed the match against Black Aces because of the injury.   Meanwhile, Vermezovic has suggested that Chiefs could be too difficult to handle for Baroka, bearing in mind the massive difference between the two clubs.   "I don't underestimate Baroka, but there is a big difference between the Vodacom League and the PSL.   "We will play with the same attitude just like in any other game and we are going to prepare for this Vodacom League team like we are preparing for a PSL team. We are a serious team and we are going to play on a high level… This game is also part of our preparation for the two big (League) games against Ajax and Sundowns," Vermezovic added.

Talking of a team with limited resources yet they claim to be the best. How come if you are the best you don't have at least three players for one position (e.g. OPFC has Makonese, Johannes and Mdluli to cover in case of anything to Lekgwathi or Mahamutsa) or having utility players (e.g.Manyisa can be slotted into the right back position, etc). This team is useless and belong to the class of Vodacom league teams no wonder Baroka coach wants them...he noticed that ba latlhile.

There is no personal problems here. He's on a go slow bcos he hasnt been paid for 2 months. How do you play on an empty stomach? He has also never received his signing-on-fee. Some people in dis forum are just inhumane. How do you keep mentioning some of our heroes/heroines who are no more? It says a lot about their background. I am not a saint bt dis is just inhumane. You shud be ashamed of yourselves.
