Barker - No more slip ups for Tuks

University Of Pretoria ready for upcoming National First Division matches

Posted: 19 April 2011 Time: 3:16 pm

The University Of Pretoria have got their PSL Promotion Play-off hopes back into their own hands with just two games to go.

This is as a result of Jomo Cosmos' 1-0 victory over Black Leopards, who previously enjoyed a two point lead over Steve Barker's men.   The University side did their part with a convincing 3-0 victory over United FC to regain second spot, a point ahead of Leopards.   The result also keeps Barker's five-year plan to see the Tshwane Students in top flight football next season alive.    It remains to be seen whether the two games remaining will put too much pressure on Tuks as they have been in this position before.   Barker admits to KickOff.com that Cosmos has done them a huge favour.   "It's back in our hands again. We just have to see it through now. No more slip ups; we can't tumble before the finishing line," says Barker.   Barker is well aware that the tables can be turned against them but promises to do all he can to ensure that nothing ruins the last 180 minutes of their season.   Tuks play Witbank Spurs away next, while Leopards will be involved in a Limpopo derby against Dynamos on the same day.   Tuks final game is home to FC AK, while Lidoda Duvha are away to United FC.     CLICK HERE for the NFD news, fixtures, results and tables.

The problem with TUKS is that they will never have supporters which is not good for the league. people cant even go and watch Supersport playing, so what is special about TUKS and the benefits it will bring to the league. may the best team win.

Amatuks must Jomo Sono's Jomo Cosmos for their sudden promotion chance. Barker you ganged up against Cosmos with Leopards but Jomo is not angry with you.

@Didingwe, Supporters issue is a national problem. There are only two teams (or three) who have a convincing support. The rest its just pitty really.

TUKS brings out quality to the field. You do not have to be a Tukkie to see that. You only have to be a football fan to support a good team.

All the best to Tukkies.

TUKS is NOT Super Sport United.

If PSL was to apply supporters as qualifying criteria then more than half of the PSL teams would not qualify.
You get an old team like Swallows struggling to raise support. A performing team like Ajax Cape Town still struggling to fill the Cape Town stadium.

TUKS fresh new talent. GO Tuks!!!
