Safa decide on Voda play-off venues

The 2010/11 Vodacom Second Division play-offs will happen in Cape Town

Posted: 19 April 2011 Time: 10:37 am

The 2010/11 Vodacom Second Division play-offs, due to kick-off in late May, will be played at two separate Cape Town venues, Belhar's Erica Park and Philippi, following an inspection of five facilities.

Officials from Safa found favour with these well-maintained grounds; however, other stadiums in Khayelitsha, Nyanga and Guguletu failed their tests.   "We've made our decision, agreed to use Philippi and Erica Park because we need two fields for the two streams," Safa NEC member Elvis Shishana tells KickOff.com.   "As a group, after the whole exercise, we came for a debriefing and those were the two that got most of the tics, with Philippi getting the opening game as well as the final."   Philippi is the home ground of Chippa United who have an excellent chance of qualifying as the Western Cape provincial representatives, but Shishana says there will be ‘no favours for nobody'.   "We don't know who will be playing where," he adds.   "There is a public draw in Johannesburg which will determine that, so Chippa might be lucky, they might be unlucky as well."

thanks for the infomation of vanues, can somebody help here, in mpumalanga lowveld region, the last games that was supposed to take place in to separate vanues was called off because the officials did'nt show and the official from safa lowveld/mpumalanga said yesterday on ligwalagwala that it is the team's fault not to have ref's on the games because the did asked for outside the province ref's to oficiate on their last games, the thing is now other teams knows that they will be in capetown for the play-offs and here in pmumalanga no one knows who will be on that play-offs and their teams must send their players home to take abit of rest from the long season but now they have to wait for the dates from safa so that they can go and finished their games, that's not fair, can you please guys try to fix this before its too late cause our teams needs to rest also so we can give our best during the play-offs, please,

i'm just a concerned supporter that's all.

@ Velaphi

It is clear to see who won the league, as per logs

1 Sivutsa Stars FC 29 21 3 5 73 27 46 66
2 Mighty Mega Force 29 19 6 4 53 20 33 63

Even if Sivutsa lose, and Mighty win their last games..Sivutsa has a better goal difference, so win the league..unless we have a 49-0 game??
