will be interesting to see how many teams allow them to leave since it isn't a FIFA weekend.

No reason the home-based under-23's can't handle the return leg.

@elpressi, lets give them the benefit of the doubt for not involving a lot of the tella boys. Ithink current form of the players also matters here. We cannot be experimenting at this crucial stage.Ghana u23 lost 0;1 at home to Sudan .dem big boys were on duty for black stars and for their clubs i understand.

@elpressi, take it easy, you cannot disrupt the plans of the U20 team because the Olympic team has a qualifier when you can get some other equally good players to use. Most of the players you name are in the U20 camp. The list above consists of only the foreign based pro so Gbolahan Salami will be part of the team. Be reminded that this team and the Super Eagles got good results last weekend without any of the players in your usual list.

@elpressi: Ma man, can't you see that the problem is with you? If you read that post well, you would see that it is the list of Foreign based players invited. probably all of them will play probably not.

You are becoming more pessimistic almost daily. Being a pessimist does not just mean expecting the bad, it means also not expecting the good, pessimism does not only mean seeing the bad side always, it also means not seeing the good side and that is what almost all your posts display. there has never been any selection by any coach that has been commended or seen as good by you, which posses the question- what is wrong with elpressi?

Those players you listed are not up to 11 and the ones listed here are not up to 18 which is the authorized number for a match yet you still complain. Try to see beyound your views. Of course we have the right to give our perspective, however; sometimes it is not a matter of different perspective. No! it should be a matter of objective perspective.

Sometimes it is good to see the good in others. You do not have monopoly of knowledge and you are not the coach.

Whoever is the coach picks those he is ready to sail or sink with. Re-think what you write sometimes because your pessimism is becoming contagious.

Elpressi Elpressi, take it easy, you shout too much, the match is almost won, so Egu, has to try some others players with a relatively easy match, as he continues to build and determine which players to call to camp for the All African Games
Some of those boys are already sure of making the camp, a a few of making the team, so it is a trial for the new players. Building a team is not Moi Moi, ask Mancini.

Why invite foreign based players when u have a 5 goal advantage? Why not use this opportunity to try out home based players or is he scared that they will lose by 6 goal?

EGUAVOEN invites IKENNA and Regional League Player for Equatorial Guinea

Published: April 03, 2011

Ahead of the routine second leg qualifier against Equatorial Guinea in Malabo, Olympic National Team coach Augustine Eguavoen has handed a call-up to little known Arinze Ikenna, who plays in Finland for OPS FC.

Ikenna joins twelve other foreign based professionals for the tie. Another unknown player Michael Essang of Estudiantil Sanducero made the list of invited overseas players. Essang plays in the regional league in Uruguay, equivalent of the fifth division.

The invited 12 professional players will join their home based counterpart in Benin on Tuesday before the team departs for Malabo via Lagos.

The Olympic Eagles won the first leg 5-0.

I don't know about this Ikeja. Here we have a 5th div. player invite and yet having a Tony Ujah painting the Norwergian league with goals but not considered. I mean this guy played in the same club with Ogiebor at Lillestrom and finished top scorer last year. Yet Ogiebor who scored 6 goals less was invited. I am confused. Nigerians please make sense of it for me
