Phumo praises Lions fight back

Nathi Lions coach April 'Styles' Phumo praises for Kaizer Chiefs performance

Posted: 14 March 2011 Time: 07:39 am

Nathi Lions coach April 'Styles' Phumo has hailed his players for what he termed a 'fantastic performance' against Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup on Sunday.

Lions showed great character coming from 2-0 down to force the game into extra-time. Chiefs scored their winning goal from a spot-kick by Gerald Sibeko in the 96th minute to grab a 3-2 victory.

_quote   Speaking to KickOff.com after the game, Phumo urged his players to produce the same performance in their next remaining League games in order to survive relegation from the First Division.   "This was fantastic performance by my players. Whoever came to the stadium got their money's worth. We matched Chiefs pound for pound, especially in the second half. I think football was winner at the end of the day.   "I have urged my players to keep their heads high and take the same performance to our remaining games in order to survive relegation."   Lions players protested when the referee blew his whistle for a penalty after defender Siyabonga Shoyisa was ajudged to have fouled Stanton Lewis. However, Phumo declined to comment on the incident.   "I have never in my career questioned a referee's decision and I reserve my comment again on this incident," says the coach.

Shame Mr Phumo, your players did well to market themselves to Rats and and sundoms. Now the question is, how are they going to avoid an Axe hanging over their heads. But im sure they must be proud of themselves since some of them seems like they already secured contracts with Rats!

Hawu kodwa niyathakatha emini kabha. hawu nifaka umuthi kubuka noma ubani. Did you really think you can beat chiefs with that muthi. Nxa sies man niyanginyanyisa. Psl was supposed to call all those players for doping test after the match to check if there was any illegal stimulates used to enhance your their performance.

TKSO: I have to admit though that this season Pirates IYASHISA.

Its like u did n't say anything, Pirates has aways been like this.

u see, on Kroll issue, Pirates fans love Pirates more than they luv Kroll and Irvin hence when things are not going as per the brand standards, they will complain.

Now things are fine, we are fine as well unlike Chiefs blind supporters, they will support even if their team is average bellow their standards. Chiefs is dead and major change financially and otherwise.

Bobby needs to ask himself, is he a Team Manager of Motaung's son?

He can't be both if he carries on as he is doing. . .!

We make Kaizer Chiefs, we can boycott stadiums when we don't see change. .we need our Kaizer Chiefs back, we need to start buying quality players instead of REJECTS!
