Ian Palmer has been appointed caretaker coach at Maritzburg United.

Palmer takes over the reins from Ernst Middendorp, who parted ways with the KwaZulu-Natal-based team at the weekend.   Chairman Farouk Kadodia confirmed to KickOff.com that Palmer will be officially unveiled as their new coach on Monday.   Palmer's first assignment is a League clash against Platinum Stars at Harry Gwala Stadium on Wednesday.
