Ghana has begun the process of converting Saint Pauli attacking midfielder Charles Takyi from an ex-German youth international to a fully fledged Black Star.
The 26 year old represented Germany at the youth level but is still eligible to play for the Black Stars. And GFA vice-president Fred Pappoe says they have made the initial request to world football governing body Fifa for the switch to be rectified. Takyi plays for Saint Pauli alongside another Ghanaian who lined up for Germany Gerald Asamoah. He has scored two goals in fourteen games for the Saint Pauli after playing a major part in the club's promotion to the Bundesliga.
