After Gordon Igesund and Boebie Solomons were relieved of their duties at Mamelodi Sundowns and Black Leopards respectively, the axe has now fallen on Khabo Zondo, who has been fired as coach of Bloemfontein Celtic.

Celtic team manager Khumbulani Konco has confirmed to KickOff.com that Zondo is no longer coach of the club, with Benjamin Reed and David Modise appointed as caretaker coaches.

"It’s clear the results were not forthcoming and so we decided to relieve him of his duties at Bloemfontein Celtic," Konco says.

"David Modise and Benjamin Reed will now act as caretaker coaches until further notice."

Zondo took over at the start of the season after leaving Golden Arrows in the last campaign to concentrate on his role as Bafana Bafana assistant coach, a position he has since vacated.

Celtic lost 3-1 at the weekened to Moroka Swallows after leading 1-0 with 10 minutes to play and find themselves 10th on the PSL table.

As long as Jimmy Augosti is still running this club, Celtic will never taste success. Coach was working with limited resources, while Jimmy is counting as the stadium turntiles where never stoping to turn. This club is run from home with every family member having a fortune. Siwelele stop calling for the head of a coach whereas you know who is plotting our downfall.

It's unfortunate that Khabo departed from Siwelele, I admire his coaching style and his honesty during interviews (less political), but hey Bosses want instant results & not excuses/stories, how teams in the PSL are ran leave a lot to be desired. I count half the teams in our league ready to part with their coaches, a circus it is indeed.

I feel sorry for Khabo, he tried like any other Coach but was unlucky. but my advise to other Coaches is guys you don't own teams, you are seating on the time bomb that will explode anytime/anyday. Today we talk 10000000 and not players. Try to inco-opate the two to win the hearts of the greedy.

if the coach can't deliver he must ship out or shape up couse he killing the moral of the supporters, we can not keep on singing for 90min for a lose weekend in and weekend out. If coach can't bring results he must just quit be for he can be pushed.

Augosti is a mampara, he thinks u can dream success and wakeup succesful. Stupid fool. He is being misled by the support the team gets whenever celtic plays and thinks Celtic is invincible, forgeting to bolster the team with good players, not one day wonders especially when they play Chiefs or Pirates. Fool. The stadium in bloem gets fool because tehre is no competion to soccer mampara.............

All the coaches that have been given da boots were clearly not bringin' gud results, celtics showed potential at the begining of the season but now all the do is fumble. i hope they do the same on wed nite against the mighty bucs.

I bet u my last cent celtic will either beat or draw with Pirates and then will loose against their next opponet. It is just like that, player are only able to motivate themselves when playing against the big guns just to prove a point, then the next game feel like they have nothing to prove 'cause they are playing smaller teams.

Celtic were playing enterprizing football which showed a lot for a bright future for the Siwelele.
Those boyz are young and very much a live wire. The 1 thing which was needed was a few experienced players to give cover to the young stars.

Siwelele is the team I envied with their style of play. By the way Im a Downs supporter

its a bad decision to fire Khabo bcoz he won one in last five games Celtic played.Anyway I like his style of play I wish one day he coaches Moroka Swallows bcoz of his experienced and believe in youngsters.Celtics play an exciting football but they never had a full squad due to injury of the key players.I also heard they have nine players injured prior the against Swallows yet the management doesn't appreciate his value to the team.Barcelona lost 4-2 in weekend,may they should fire the coach as well.

it is amazing that some PSL coaches are moaning aboutthe suspension of their players when the players are receiving unnecessary yellow cards thefore they rule themselves out of playing for the next game.Goalkeepers receiving cards for time wasting even the infields players,players kicking the ball when the wistle has already blown,this are absolutly unnecessary.The coaches are not punishing this players for this nonsnce and after that they come to the media and complain about the suspension of the players.Which means the technical team must blamed for this.Also the medical team must be blamed for the rushing of players into taking part in the games when they are not 100% fit,in the name of they are the pillars of the team.BE WARNED NO PLAYER MUST GET YELLOW CARD FOR KICKING THE BALL AFTER THE WISTLE HAS BEEN BLOWN AND TIME WASTING.IS SO DISSAPOINTING,WAKE-UP COACHES AND ACT NOW NOT LATER!!!!!!

Tough luck Zondo things are not going so well with the man. He is not that bad but something is lacking on his coaching style. Just think while he was @ Arrows the results were not coming but the same players he had on his disposal delivered good results after he was sidelined. I bet my last cent Celtics will come right soon because those players are dedicated. When you are a coach you can't fall asleep while on the bench and expect some results, I don't mean you need to be a touchline comedian but show some interest.

Alex how do you describe a good coach in your own words. Looking at your list of coaches who were fired to me you have a mix of good and bad. Tell me if I'm wrong but it looks like the coaches you liked because you left out some good coaches out of your list like Pitso , Gavin Hunt etc.

I think what the chairman of the clubs are doing is good by firing coaches, because we must know that this people are investing on their teams NOT to the coaches. Yes it is sad for them to leave but if they are not productive they must be fired with immiadiate effect. I do not know why does Mushin does not resign now before he could ge booted, cause he will be shocked when times come, draw does not take him anywhere but to pull Amakhosi slowly in the whole.
