Mayambela to miss Downs' clash

Mark Mayambela will not face Mamelodi Sundowns

Posted: 10 February 2011 Time: 3:44 pm

Orlando Pirates have been dealt a massive blow ahead of their meeting against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday as they will be without crowed favourite Mark Mayambela.

Mayambela picked up an injury in Tuesday's friendly match against Moroka Swallows at Johannesburg Stadium, which forced him to miss today's training session.   The Buccaneers as will also be without Oupa Manyisa due to suspension.   Bucs coach Ruud Krol confirms that the former Bloemfontein Celtic midfielder will definitely miss the match.   "It is disappointing that we will miss both Manyisa and Mayambela due to injuries and suspension," he says after the training today.   "Mayambela picked a knock on Tuesday when we played a friendly and he will definitely not be available," he says.   But some good news for Pirates is that midfielder Tlou Segolela will be available for the showdown after missing last weekend 1-0 victory at Mpumalanga Black Aces due to a groin injury.   Segolela, who was part of the Bafana Bafana team that beat Kenya 1-0 at Royal Bafokeng Stadium, confirms that he is ready to take on the Brazilians.   "I'm looking forward to the game. I am sure that we have what it takes to win this game," he says.

We keep on having too many players on suspension and injuries this is bad news, maybe we should also try dirty tricks like Chiefs where we talk of stadium cables theft or anything to allow our players more time to heal!what do you think Mabhakaniya?

Some of you sundowns fans have forgotten the embarassment you suffered at the hands of The Mighty Baccaneers in the first round. Remember you're coming at our home, we'll not be that generous with our 3 points. All i know is that at the end of the game we'll have done what we've been doing in the past 10 games. Collecting our points. BE WARNED!!!
