AmaZulu beat Moroka Swallows 4-0 in a League match at Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The goals were scored by Ramson Zhuwawo, Lehlohonolo Majoro and brace by Ayanda Dlamini .
The opening 45 minutes were a nightmare for Swallows, who found themselves 3-0 down at the break, mainly due to some sloppy defending as the lessons learnt by their two recent wins seemed to be cast away on the wind.
The scene was set after only two minutes when Ramson Zhuwawo profited from a goal-mouth scramble to score from close range.
Ten minutes later Usuthu double their lead when from 10-yards out Majoro sent the ball past Aubrey Mathibe, thanks to a good bit of work by Dlamini.
Swallows hardly had a sniff at goal, with the best they could come up with being a few headers from the hard-working former AmaZulu attacker Brad Ritson, none of which came close.
At the other end, Shapahu wasted two good chances for the visitors – one a header, the other a volley.
But in the 36th minute Dlamini netted his fourth goal of the season after skinning the ineffectual Ashraf Hendricks before wrong-footing Mathibe at his near post.
Swallows were slightly better in the second half, creating several chances, but still conceding a fourth goal right at the death.
The hosts got the ball in the back of the net 20 minutes after the restart, but Keegan Ritchie’s 25-yard shot had taken a deflection off Tshepo Ramokala, who was in an off-side position.
Soon after, Shapahu nearly took advantage of some poor play by Swallows keeper Mathibe, but his well-executed left-footed volley smashed into the crossbar.
Ariweriyai then cleared Giorgi Nergadze’s goal-bound shot off the line in the 89th minute before Dlamini added his second in the 92nd minute, showing good composure as he comfortably beat Mathibe after sprinting through a non-existent Swallows defence.
