It was Swallows' first win at their 14th attempt and the Wits coach is not amused by the result. "It was a poor performance - the worst performance by my team so far this season. We lost to a team that has not managed a win in their previous 13 games," says De Sa of the result that saw Gordon Igesund's charges increase their tally to eight points and a sigh of relief after weeks of indifferent results. Siyabonga Nomvete scored a second half penalty to separate the two teams after Koketso Mmotong was foulked in the area. The Birds, who missed two sitters after the spot-kick, appeared to be headed for yet another disappointing result when their opponents won a penalty of their own, albeit a soft one in the last five minutes of the game. Brazilian David de Oliviera, however, crashed his kick against the upright. "It was not one of the best games by both teams and the refereeing was equal to the standard of the match. Our players showed up for the match, but they decided they did not want to play on the day. That is not how to do it; we have to always give our best no matter who we come up against." Wits were missing some of their regular players through injuries. "We have been chopping and changing the team; not by choice, but because of various reasons like injuries and suspensions." Sipho Mngomezulu and Mark Haskins were out injured while Thando Mngomeni also pulled a hamstring. Mthulisi Sibanda and Patrick Zikalala

I really miss Kadi and Haskins who is a natural goal scorer (get well soon boy!) One could bank on Haskins and Kadi to score goals, instead we have youngsters who at times are running around like headless chickens! Roger stop chopping and changing the team and get some consistency as we are witnessing the same drama of last season!
