Chabangu has been told that he will not be immediately signed due to the fact that he is unfit, having played just seven games in the last two years – making just two substitute appearances in the League last season. According to influential authorities at the club, they are bargaining to have Chabangu ready to be involved in the last 10 League games of the season. "When Chabangu gets fit after a month, we have plans to use him in the last 10 games of the season where we feel if he can play at least 30 minutes in each of those he will make a difference in our team. But right now he first needs to cross the hurdle of getting fit after which we will then bring him into the team," says the Swallows source. Chabangu – who is currently under a strict fitness programme at the club – has also been made aware by coach Gordon Igesund of the fact that he first needs to work on his fitness for now after which he will then be offered a contract. With Igesund having gotten the best out of the former AmaGlug-glug star during their days at Sundowns, the veteran coach still believes there is hope in Chabangu getting back to his best as long as he is fit. The 25 year-old striker has battled with a series of demons while he has also been unfortunate with injuries along the way.
