Vuyo Mere and James Mayinga join Moroka Swallows

Posted: 13 January 2011 Time: 12:11

Moroka Swallows will have their latest loan acquisitions from Mamelodi Sundowns Vuyo Mere and James Mayinga available for selection this weekend when the basement club meets Bidvest Wits following the duo's registration with the PSL.

Leon Prins, the Swallows boss confirms that Mere and Mayinga's loan deals stretching up to the end of the season are now done and dusted.    "We have completed the signing of both players on loan after having been involved in smooth negotiations with Mamelodi Sundowns. They immediately become available for selection for our game this weekend as they have also been registered with the PSL. There is absolutely no doubting that the two players bring the desired experience and value to our team. I believe we have strengthened the team in the right way and we should now be able to start winning games and get off the bottom," says Prins.    Both Mere and Mayinga haven't been used much at Sundowns this season as Antonio Lopez Habas has preferred other players to them at wingback where the two play.     While Mere's loan move was not really expected even though he wasn't playing much Mayinga was always faced with the prospect of leaving due to the fact that he hasn't held a regular place in the team since arriving from Swallows two years ago.    Mayinga had also made it known to Sundowns management that if he was to be loaned out he preferred moving to a team based in Gauteng.

Directionless, visionless team. Wasting our local talent, why not release them permanently and let the players chase their dreams somewhere else
It all goes to management , we cannot blame Motsepe for this , Motsepe: he's like an ATM where you go and withdraw whatever amount of money you need to do whatever you want. If you withdraws the money to buy alcohol and drugs with groopies, then you cannot blame an ATM(Motsepe)at the end of the day if we can't see "progress" with all those withdrawals .

The ppl managing this team are useless including Alex Shakoane.

mash-do - I am also wondering if that clause is part of the deal for all 4 players. If other players from Swallows are injured and/or suspended for the game against Sundowns, that will be chaos for them. Aces also loaned players from Sundowns (maybe with same clause). This is another way of Motsepe trying to neutralize other teams to increase his chances of getting closer to winning the league. Let’s wait and see if the strategy will work.

Great move by Prins, Vuyo and James will bring much needed experience and stabillity to the birds's nest. Explore options of making moves permanent. Some game time for the two players as well.

Editor is Chanbangu getting a contract after Gordon invited him back for training following his public apology?

Its good for downs o let players who are not getting game time to get it somewhere, he he he he Gordon must not field Mayinga when they play Wits cos he mite repeat what he did to Downs in Mbombela, Now downs has downsized the squad to manageable number. Mphela should be released and Tressa Mputu from Mazembe should be brought in.

Welcomed both players to the birds' cage.Vuyo will add a big value to the team and sidelines Koloba to the bench .I don't understand the reason of bringing Mayinga back to the team bcos we have enough left fullbacks. I always respect Gordon's decision even I dissagree with him.Mr Leon Prins if you can get a player of Teko Modise 'calibre to Swallows ngiyokuthethelela zonke izono zakho mlungu. Birds by birth.
