Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung says he is shocked by the call-up of Thabani Mthembu to the national Under-17 side.

The young striker was selected for the Sascoc Games in Mbabane which starts today, despite Chiefs having suspended the player for suspected age-cheating.

“On October 28 we wrote a letter informing Safa that Boitumelo Xaba and Thabani Maluleki Mthembu have been suspended by the Club because of suspected age cheating,” he told the club’s official website.

“We are surprised to hear from the media that the player has been called up under Kaizer Chiefs name. We never received a letter from Safa and we would like to put it categorically clear that we are distancing ourselves from this call-up.”

Bobby, what steps did you take to end up suspending the players in question??? Maybe you should tell all the interested parties so that they too can root out all the age cheaters.

Kaizer Chimps suppoters are so dom!!! Suspending and expelling are not synonymous. Masho-dom, which player was expelled at Kaizer Cabbage FC for age cheating? I hate the Jazabels because they have a big mouth. Why dont you give SAFA the chance to react to Bobby's shock? What if SAFA made they homework and found the boy not to have cheated? When is Chiefs going to conclude the investigation on these boys? Why are Chiefs not expelling them? How long will this suspension going to last? For all those Kaizer Cheats who claim that OP players are older than their age, I dont blame you, you are just trying to feel good because your team has the entire development cheating on age. Its easy to make counter allegations. SpiderMadala looks way older than the age declared so is Mandla Masango. The young star that you signed from Pirates development was also a cheat and older than he is according to the Jazabels but now that he joined the Jazabels thats his age.

The problem with cheats is that they deny our "real youngsters" an opportunity 2 play @ the highest level. If we condone it & say "If Segolela is Cheated what impact will that have on this Country" we r killing our football.

You are a foolish Jazabel!!! You already are associated with the cheats and you have proven that your team is not professional. You must have the mechanism in place to verify age before accepting the players in your development team. Shutting down the whole development structure is proof that Chiefs did not do their homework. The age cheating problem has been there now for a long time, its not new.

If all development players at Pirates are age cheaters then the new Chiefs signee from Pirates its an age cheat. Why are you not suspending him or expelling him? Why did you sign him in the firts place? Kaizer Cheats FC.

I am not a journo, I'll not call SAFA. KO came with this story and it involve SAFA. We need the balance on the story before we can judge. As for Pirates protecting cheaters, thats just a stupid allegation that cant be proven. In the meantime answer the questions that I asked instead of posting kak. Which player was expelled at Chiefs for age Cheating? Remember the entire development structures were dissolved because of age cheating but the cheating players are still registred chiefs players.

Kaizer Chiefs is the only team in the entire whole world that I know of that shut down the development structure because of age cheating. This is proof that this team is run like a Taxi rank. They dont even know how to verify age of players before accepting them in their development team.

Msheko, This story is about Chiefs and SAFA but kaizer Cheats wont leave Pirates alone. You drag Pirates into your age cheating problem. What does Tlou and Otorogu have to do with this. If the Jazabels dont want to be associated with cheaters, why dont they expell these boys? Why are these boys still in the Kaizer cheaters books? I dont blame you, all chiefs supporters are fools. TSo is still known as Bennedict Vilakazi at Sundowns. He was signed as Bennedict Vilakazi in Denmark. IS he still using his brother's name? Did khoza answer the questions? Using another person's ID is a crime. he will be in jail if that was the case. Pirates have a strict procedure to verify the age of players and they did verify Tso's age. Thats why we never had to do away with our development structures because of age cheating, we do our homework. Even if Tso was proven to have cheated it will be an isolated incident unlike at Kaizer Cheaters where the entire development is found to be cheating. When are you expelling your cheaters?

We MUST never try to protect age cheaters! We should try and bring the architects of this age cheating to book. We all know for sure that Parents and some players' family as well as relatives are accomplice to this disease. It was a noble decision from Chiefs in shuting their development pending investigation over suspected age cheating on their players.
Its unfortunate on those players who did not committ the age cheating crime.
Intense refence check should be conducted before players could be signed at any development. This includes verifications at schools, hospitals, home affairs, community clubs, churches, guardians, parents and et cetera!
We should all commend Chiefs for taking such a bold decision and encourage all the Clubs to be honest to the public. They owe this to players with rightful age as they are denied opportunities!
