Gordon Igesund has been officially announced as Moroka Swallows new coach. 

Igesund is taking over reigns at Swallows after Reiner Zobel was shown the door at the club this past weekend.   The Dube Birds boss Leon Prins has confirmed that the former African Wanderers striker is their new coach.   “We had other candidates for this job but at this moment there is no better coach than Gordon Igesund.   “He has fought many relegation battles with teams and I am confident that he will help us get out of our current situation,” says Prins.

Finally Swallows management came to their sense in differentiating good and bad.
Zobel was bad choice whereas Gordon is good choice.
Had Leon listened earlier Swallows would have been contesting the pole position. However its not late to move from the bottom to the top 8 spot especially with Gordon in the nest.

Swallows management doesn't understand football. You have chased the coach before Zobel who was doing well, pls don't repeat the same mistake because the state of the Birds has dropped down to be a small team. The other mistake is to let good players away and bring new without experience, you need to incorporate them with experience players. The team need total renovation.

Football is a strange animal.As much as I wish the Birds all the best,Gordon may take them to NFD.It doesn't work like that.You must have the right structure,right players,right everything.

Just look at Sundowns,they have all the players any coach would love to have but somehow they are not convincing cause there is one little thing that's missing.

I have no doubt in my mind Gordon Igesund will do a great job with Swallows. The fans can start smiling again. This is a man who knows our football better than most if not all current PSL coaches. If management can give him their full backing Swallows will rise to the top 8 in 12 or fewer games.
