Galadima ready to replace Adamu

Posted: 2010-11-24 07:42

Former NFA chairman Ibrahim Galadima says he is pleased to have been nominated by the Nigeria Football Federation to contest for Amos Adamu's position at the CAF elections.

Galadima, who was removed in a bitter war of attrition four years ago by the Sani Lulu faction with the backing of Adamu, described the nomination as destiny.

“We give glory to God and I am quite fulfilled by this development. I thank the federation for finding me fit to give me this responsibility.

“Not because I’m the best for the job but because it is destined for me to be the one. It is a call to service. I, therefore, call on all Nigerians to give me their support. It’s a Nigerian project, not Ibrahim Galadima’s project. We’ve been talking about flying the Nigerian flag and the good name of the country has to be maintained.

“Everyone has a role to play, even by offering prayers and providing goodwill. Mine is only to serve Nigeria and I’m ready to serve Nigeria in any capacity I’m asked to serve,” Galadima said.

If there is rule of law in Nigeria, former this and that cannot come out to say he want to represent Nigeria again.

@Lix, thank you very much. you said it all.

Sley: 2010-11-24 12:42

From what i know. Galadima was corrupt. He was the nff chairman when Nigeria drew Angola in Kano and that singular result made us not go to the world cup in 2002. We are not knew with his antecedent. I just hope the FA really know what they are doing

chesta: 2010-11-24 15:19

Nigeria must wake up. Why is it that, ppl that were booted out of thier offices due to corruption are always nominated to represent the great Nigeria? And nt the choice of the ppl? Ths man, base on his statements, i see hm as a dubious man! 1 luv 9ja

Uche: 2010-11-24 20:58

On what grounds should Galadima relace Adamu? What makes him better? Galadima that draged our football to the mud. This is totally Unacceptable. Why not the likes of Odegbami? This country is just unbelieveable. Whats Goodluck saying about this?

ejamikoko: 2010-11-25 08:20

@Lima, bros you are 100%. If Nigeria is a country to change,I dont see the reason of all these "Former". Nigeria is a country of over 150Million ppl and every time there isan election for a vacant post either for Presidency or Ministerian positions it will still be "Former This" and "Former that". What has he Galadima to offer that he didnt offer when he was there with NFA? lOOK AT HIS WORDS.Its sounding more of a criminal with cunny appraoch."If you want me to serve I will serve". These evil men will one day all wipe away from the surface of Nigeria. One day na One Day. Devil cannot rule the earth 4ever. Look at IBB,ATIKU etc coming back again to rule. These Evil Abokis.Thunder will strike you Galadima and your cos of "Formers". *******.

ejamikoko: 2010-11-25 08:26

One day all these evil men will burn to ashes. You Galadima and rest that has vowed never to stop tormenting our football happiness.I want you to know that nobody called you to serve. Its your underground lobbying thru dark that brough you back again.Look at his Ugly Mallam face.Same thing, that law of karma that got ur fellow Aboki(Adamu) will still get you again. Adamu taught he is in Nigeria where Officials takes bribe in front of the world without knowing there is little cameras like a sand that can be kept in a room and it will get all pics and sounds. He taught he is in Kano or THOSE DESERTS.

Emperor: 2010-11-25 12:08

I wonder who nominated Galadima to run for that office, what do he know about football? He is even more corrupt than Adamu. If the position is meant for the Northerners then they should bring someone like Garuba Lawal, he is the only ex footballer I know from the North that is not greedy or selfish. Nigeria shine your eyes....abi Daddy Showkey don die?

Emperor from Kuala Lumpur.

Observers are worried

S.L.: 2010-11-25 13:38

Hello Nigerians: If you don't know a person please do asked about him. Detmolder let me tell you that the same set of NFF you trusted for giving Sia one the SE coaching job are the same NFF that nominated the Galadima. Then who's the crook? Simply Galadima is not from your brother, am sure that is your reason. Nigerian please lets us be one. Cos its God .......

Benson: 2010-11-25 13:39

Is NFF doomed eternally? How come Galadima who was forced out of NFF and who took NFF to court be the one now nominated? Is this not the same Galadima that moved Super Eagles most crucial match with Angola to Kano his home state and cost us qualification to that WC? Is he not still the same discredited Galadima in our sports arena? These are all Amos Adamu's cronies?
Very seriously, the unending circle of corruption in NFF must be wiped out. Why can we not look for a credible football personality and send to FIFA? This businessman who has little to do with football save that they organised him into football for what to grab only must be avoided now? To avoid double shame you must do a rethink now. A word is enough for the wise!

S.L.: 2010-11-25 13:52

Emperor: Listing carefully. Galadima was a commissioner of Sport in his state and NFA Chairman and a board member IOC (Nigeria) and he was the Chairman LOC Nigeria 99' (Kano state). He is recognise in his state with traditional title (Galadiman ***ge for over 40years)since when he was in secondary school.

S.L.: 2010-11-25 13:57

See Galadima won his election and Adamu and co use what ever means to force him out and now God is revenging for him. So you better support him or God will decent on you too. Watch what you say Nigerians

ejamikoko: 2010-11-25 14:20

Fire Burn that Galadima and all Nigerian that supports that *******..

obi007: 2010-11-25 15:24

Sentiments apart, Galadima is qualified for the post. People accuse him for our loss to Angola @ the 2006world cup qualifying match which galadima insisted that must be hosted in Kano State.
However I beg to differ. First of all is Kano State not part of Nigeria? I remember in 2002 world cup qualifying match between Eagles and Sudan ,the Sudanese took us to one of their worst stadiums and to make matters worse the weather in Sudan was hot. Still we beat the Sudanese by 4-1 and went ahead to qualify for that korea/Japan world cup. Now is Sudan’s weather not hotter than the weather in Kano state?
What happened in that match was as a result of Coach Christian chukwu’s lack of technical knowhow. I still remember vividly what Angolan coach Goncalves said. He said that the Nigerian the Nigerian coach made a mistake by removing Ayo Makinwa early in that match because the Angolan defence had no answer to Ayo makinwa and replaced him with someone that was inefficient.People remember that Ayo makinwa was one of our best exports that season in Europe(serie A) ,he was in top form but due to reasons best known to Xtian chukwu he removed him “early”. Now are you still blaming Galadima instead of coach Christian Chukwu and please remember that Galadima has always been an advocate of foreign coach but couldn’t get one in his time because he was @ loggerheads with the sports ministry therefore no funds to hire a foreign coach that was why he was stuck with an ineffective local coach.
Now Adamu used that fiasco in Kano state to kick Galadima out of the Glass house with the hhelp of FIFA, our press who hypnotised us and also with the help of Lulu, Amanze, Ogonjobi, Owumi who was then chairman of Nigerian clubsides(gist had it that he was promised the post of SEC GEN of NFA but was betrayed @ the last minute).
Galadima was @ loggerheads with sports ministry and Adamu because he refused to play ball and he was also accused of being arrogant.
Maybe he’s arrogant but I’m sure that this ABOKI is qualified to hold any football administrative position in any international organisation

Shyroc: 2010-11-26 15:12

Why dont the Naija football body consider ex players like Peter Rufai, Okocha, Olisa, Ezeugo. All we seem to be doing is swapping one onye oshi with another.
