Nigeria has taken the lead and asked CAF to investigate the gender of two members of Equatorial Guinea's women's team.
Players of Ghana and hosts Banyana Banyana had also complained about the two players after losses against the former African champions in Group B and semi-final matches respectively.
Super Falcons' chief coach, Eucharia Uche said that they had already paid a protest fee to CAF so that they could immediately look into the controversy.
"CAF should do something about Equatorial Guinea so that Africa will not be embarrassed at the World Cup final next year in Germany," she said.
Nigeria won her sixth African title by beating Equatorial Guinea in the final match played at the Daveyton's Sinaba Stadium at the weekend.
Before the game, many of the participants at the competition had complained about two players in the Equatorial Guinean team, Salimata Simpore and Biliguisa Simpore.
Two years ago in the competition's sixth edition which the Equatorial Guineans hosted and won, many participating teams, including Nigeria also protested against the players but CAF failed to react.
"This appeal is being done for the sake of Africa. It is not as if we are doing this because they beat us. Our players beat Equatorial Guinea square and fair, and there are no questions about our superiority.
"But it is important CAF does something about this now, because they are not going outside Africa to represent Equatorial Guinea, but the continent.
"It will be too bad for us and also embarrassing when we get to the World Cup and other teams start to complain about the players. It will really distract us," Uche said.
Both Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea have qualified to represent Africa at the 2011 Fifa Women's World Cup final next June in Germany.
