CAF urged to probe Equatorial Guinea ‘girls'

CAF urged to probe Equatorial Guinea ‘girls'

Posted: 2010-11-17 08:18

Nigeria has taken the lead and asked CAF to investigate the gender of two members of Equatorial Guinea's women's team.

Players of Ghana and hosts Banyana Banyana had also complained about the two players after losses against the former African champions in Group B and semi-final matches respectively.

Super Falcons' chief coach, Eucharia Uche said that they had already paid a protest fee to CAF so that they could immediately look into the controversy.

"CAF should do something about Equatorial Guinea so that Africa will not be embarrassed at the World Cup final next year in Germany," she said.

Nigeria won her sixth African title by beating Equatorial Guinea in the final match played at the Daveyton's Sinaba Stadium at the weekend.

Before the game, many of the participants at the competition had complained about two players in the Equatorial Guinean team, Salimata Simpore and Biliguisa Simpore.

Two years ago in the competition's sixth edition which the Equatorial Guineans hosted and won, many participating teams, including Nigeria also protested against the players but CAF failed to react.

"This appeal is being done for the sake of Africa. It is not as if we are doing this because they beat us. Our players beat Equatorial Guinea square and fair, and there are no questions about our superiority.

"But it is important CAF does something about this now, because they are not going outside Africa to represent Equatorial Guinea, but the continent.

"It will be too bad for us and also embarrassing when we get to the World Cup and other teams start to complain about the players. It will really distract us," Uche said.

Both Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea have qualified to represent Africa at the 2011 Fifa Women's World Cup final next June in Germany.

Honestly, when I saw the # 8 Salimata, I really saw a male n CAF must do something. I am most definitely 100% behind this argument, this probe must be done. What I like is that Nigeria beat them, so their complaints must have some value.

Yhaaa....eeeiiisssshh

She's not appealing when you look at her/him but as an African we have some of our sister that look exactly like her/him.

I don't want to say much about this picture becuase we(RSA) had the same issue with our own Caster Semenya .
Let's see what CAF has to say and what steps they gonna take to make sure that we as a continent we're 100% happy about these 2 players and they're cleared

chesta: 2010-11-17 08:36

@colin udoh. You are doing a great job by getting us updated all the time. More grease to your elbow! CAF should really do something about these two eq. Guinea players. We are not complaining coz we are nigerians,bt the for sake of africans. If CAf wishes to ignore our summons, i bet them, at the worldcup, those guys who call themselves girls wil be exposed and the world wil knw how incompetent issa hayotu and his Caf led wards are. 1 luv 9ja

chris: 2010-11-17 08:56

It's still amazing to me that South Africa also laid a complaint, why should they at all? They fielded two men in their attack against Nigeria, all other countries except Equatorial Guinea and South Africa fielded real women but Equatorial Guinea and South Africa fielded Hermaphrodites or perhaps outright men.

TIP : 2010-11-17 09:19

come on guyz, the two girl they just look like our caster semenya. they are girls 150%

Let us not be consumed by mental slavery and stupid ideologies that women were meant to be better-quality than men. The beauty of a person lies inside their hearts and expressed through their behavior.

Demeaning you fellow brother/sister is unacceptable and must be disregarded at all costs.

None is promoting age/gender cheating in any sport and if happens it must be dealt with amicably and with respect.

Don’t be fooled by these political leaders who satisfy their slave masters at the expense of their own families and friends.

Africa Unite – emancipate yourselves from mental slavery; none but ourselves can free our minds.

Philosopher : 2010-11-17 10:15

Even bayana bayana paraded 2 or 3 girls that look like men but nobody complain so why must eg 'girls' be an exception? Reason? there is no element of girls in these players they are 99% men. Use ur tongue 2 count ur teeth.
God bless Nigeria!

GOOD PEOPLE GREAT NATION!

She is either a man in a woman or a woman in a man which ever way there is a simple solution, female caf official simply tell her/or him to undress and if there is v then problem solved. Period

Lufunott: 2010-11-17 10:35

Looking at the picture I see a he not a she, I know we have a similar person in Caster but Salimata is dark too and too strong to be a woman. I think nija have a case. CAF should do something.

In as much as I often do not make comments based on picture of footballers regarding age, I cannot hold my comment regarding gender issue. The picture shown by KON, if combined with that shown by the link posted by @Ikkalu, totally shows a male masquerading as a female. I just dont understand what CAF is doing allowing this falsification to continue year after year, tournament after tournament. If one may ask, what has CAF or Hayatou done to progress or improve African football since he has been CAF President? If he cannot investigate and respond to this accusations levelled against this team since 2006, then he must be condoning this action.

We can only wait for them to disgrace Africa at the world cup when they are finally tested.

http://thebiglead.com/index.php/2010/11/12/salimata-simpore-the-new-caster-semenya/

“The South African Football Association (Safa) on Friday said it will wait for a report from its Banyana Banyana technical team before it joins Ghana and Cameroon in accusing Equatorial Guinea of fielding men in the African Women’s Championship. Some South African supporters at Sinaba Stadium jeered Equatorial Guinea striker, Salimata Simpore, claiming she looked masculine.”

Madlibhantshi: 2010-11-17 11:42

I won't dwell on the gender of the players. may i take the opportunity to commend Eucharia Uche for both her comments and actions on the above issue. This continent has in many instances shoot itself in the foot for not acting on similar issues and those of age scanning. I believe the current CAF is hanging his head in shame. This is one of the reasons why, even those who did not believe that we should get a new person, should revisit their decison. Let us clear up all these shady areas in our African football. Thank you Nigeria for taking the issue up. We'll be watching.

Mesh - K 4 L: 2010-11-17 12:43

these is a he not a she.................................WoW.iF our African sisters will look like these, then they are very ugly am sorry.

Nigerian ladies look beautiful and honestly they play like men,but Equitorial Guinea boys oops!!!I mean girls, are so black like me ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ...............WoW cheaters

Tony: 2010-11-17 13:08

Salimata Simpore (and other Equatorial Guinea female players) might not rank among the beautiful ones, facially, but I don't doubt her feminineness. Most ladies who are involved in sport are certainly far from being beauty queens because of their masculine features. Again Equatorial Guinea cannot take the risk of deceiving everybody for so long. Fellow house members, let us look around us: are there not sport women around who have all the features of a man? How do we describe Asians sport women? Are they men in disguise too? Let the fate of Semanya not be allowed to befall any of our (Africa)sport women any longer.Enough is enough!

tumb up 4 our girls. 4 d simpores i c no girl in their face. CAF should do somtin about dis, so dat Africa wil not b embrassed at d world. Once again congratulation 2 our super falcons.

Mega: 2010-11-17 13:38

Just at Oscar said, CAF is just waiting for the BIGGER SCANDAL to occur before Hayatou brings out his ugly face. If they don't sort this out, FIFA will do it for us. And if they eventually carry out this test, Their gold medal from the previous edition will surely go to Nigeria.
This whole thing is simply disgusting!!

Peace

wiseman: 2010-11-17 14:14

Guys all said and done. I looked closely at this picture and honestly I can't see any breasts? Can someone tell me where the breasts are located? Or are flat as in already obeying gravity laws? Falcons Oparanozie that plays like a man at least you can still see the breasts but I searched and searched and can't see any? Any clues?

Mcebo..: 2010-11-17 14:40

Soem of our woman have breasts even though they look like man mara this girls there is no sign of breasts...

CAF must do something..good thing this thing was raised by Nigeria cos if it was SA people were gonna say we sore losers...

Van Basten: 2010-11-17 14:52

Women who play soccer never really looked like your normal she.the whole world.

Dr Kola: 2010-11-17 19:09

In my humble opinion they are masculine ladies until proven otherwise, I don't think EQ will risk the punishment of featuring men when the 2 ladies already look like men. Recall the case of a SouthAfrican sister Semenya during the world atheletics championship.

It 's alright too for the concerned parties to request verification, this will clear the air and avoid misgivings by the oppositions.

Olumide: 2010-11-18 13:15

She is a girl, look very well at the facial structure, maybe a hermaphrodite, but definitely there is some feminity

chris: 2010-11-18 13:35

South Africa still speaks of gender cheating when they cheated at the recently concluded Female Nations Cup with two men in their team.
