Saintfiet denied work permit

KickOff.com has learnt that Zimbabwean immigration authorities have refused to issue a work permit to the Warriors Belgian coach, Tom Saintfiet, who was deported last month after failing to secure the necessary documentation before starting his new job.
Sources in the Zimbabwe Football Association have confirmed Saintfiet’s visa application was rejected, but referred KickOff.com to Zifa lawyer Ralph Maganga.
However, Maganga could not be reached for comment.
Appointed coach of the Zimbabwe Warriors, Saintfiet violated immigration laws by conducting training sessions without a work permit before an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Cape Verde. He was ordered out of the country and was said to be awaiting developments in a bordering state.
It remains unclear what course of action Zifa will now take as they signed a four-year contract with the former Namibian national team coach and it may take some time for him to return to work - if he ultimately is able to do so should Zifa appeal the decision.
