Malawi national team coach Kinnah Phiri has revealed that he had called time on midfield workhorse Fischer Kondowe's international career on disciplinary grounds but has recalled Josephy 'Shakira' Kamwendo.

Kinnah told Nyasa Times on Wednesday that he would no longer be picking the winger as long as he remains head coach of the Flames.

According to the national coach, the player who is set to join local Big Bullets after being off-loaded by Black Leopards as surplus to requirements, sneaked out of Shire Highland Hotel camp before the match against Chad in an Africa Cup of Nations.

Kinnah said that it was unfortunate that Kondowe did not learn from his past mistakes where he did the same thing when the Flames were preparing to go to Angola for the Africa Cup of Nations.

"I think l have failed with Fischer because the young boy does not want to change his behaviour and l cannot tolerate indiscipline among my players," said the coach, who stressed that Kondowe will never put on Flames jersey as far as he remains the tactician.

"I won't be picking him," he said.

He however, stressed that he does not hold any grudges with him but gross indiscipline has ruined his future with the Flames.

"Some of his team mates even complained about his indiscipline and after the Chad game the whole technical panel we called him and informed him that he will never been called for Flames again," said Kinnah.

On another note, the Malawi coach has called up Vasco Da Gama's Kamwendo in the Flames squad preparing for a friendly match against Tanzania in Blantyre.

The coach sidelined Kamwendo due to lack of fitness after he performed badly against Botswana.

Also included by Kinnah are Russian based striker Esau Kanyenda, Sweden gangling striker Russell Mwafulirwa, Rwandan based Elvis Kafoteka and Victor Nyirenda.

South African-based Peter Mponda, Peter Wadabwa, Jimmy Zakazaka, Allan Kamanga, Swadick Sanudi, Atusaye Nyondo, Moses Chavula, Jacob Ngwira, Grant Lungu, Benard Harawa and Harry Nyirenda were the other players who made it in the Flames squad.

Kinnah however said each and every player who has been called should fight for his position because competition will be stiff since he will select players on merit.
