Harrison Afful is hoping a Champions League winner's medal can help him regain a regular spot in the Black Stars.

The Esperance defender will travel with the Tunisians to Lubumbashie for the first leg of the 2010 African Champions League Final against and is confident he will leave the Congo DR capital with his chances of a winner's medal brighter than ever.

"We went to Cairo to get a very decent result against El-Ahly so we are confident we can get a decent one in DR Congo," he told KickOffGhana.com. "Confidence here is high and personally it means a lot to me to be playing in the Champions League Final."

Afful is also hoping a good performance for the Tunisians in the biggest club game on the continent will help his cause as he looks for a way back into the Black Stars.

He had held down the left back slot in the side for two years before losing out to Hans Adu Sarpei and missing out on the World Cup subsequently.

"I don't consider myself to be out of the national team but obviously it will help my course very well if I do well in the two legs. It is a game the continent will be watching and I am keen to make the most of it even though the priority for me is the winner's medal first and foremost."
