Pressure mounts on Fabian at Hearts

Accra Hearts of Oak coach Paa Kwesi Fabian has dubbed his side’s trip to Cape Coast on Sunday to face Ebusua Dwarfs a ‘must-win’ for the Phobians.

The game, which is live on the home of African football, SuperSport 9, on Sunday at 3pm, pits two traditional sides who have blown hot and cold this season against each other and Fabian is keen to sort his side out as quickly as possible.

“It is a must-win game for us because anything less and we will fall further down the league table,” Fabian said. “And you know what the pressure of not winning at Hearts of Oak means.”

Fabian’s side are presently on eight points, five points adrift of the leaders, while their opponents, back in the top-flight after a prolonged absence, are just a point better off.

Fabian is at a loss to explain Hearts of Oak’s indifferent form, but says the players are away this is crucial. “All week I have been telling them what this means. These days in the Ghana League you cannot underestimate anyone again. It is too tight and too competitive.”

A win for Hearts at the Robert Mensah Stadium will light up their season considerably and lift them into the top 5 depending on the outcome of other games, while for Dwarfs, victory will earn them their most significant scalp of the season so far and a healthy haul 12 points from their first seven games.
